Jeni, I have no idea what doctrines Masons hold to. All I can say is that if any part of what they must adhere to denies the reality of Jesus being the Son of God then they can't be christian by definition.

The a Christian, Jewish, Muslim, Buddhist, Hindu, etc... that are also Freemasons. Freemasonry is not a religion and does not seek to replace religion in any way. It is a social fraternity that teaches moral lessons through symbol, ritual and allegory. Morality is not the sole provine of religion. You do have to believe in a supreme deity to become a Freemason, but there is no discussion of what that supreme deity is.
32nd is a degree of the Scottish Rite which is an appendant body of Freemasonry, meaning it is not a part of Freemasonry, but you need to be a Master Mason to be a member. Freemasonry consists of the Blue Lodge (also called Craft Lodge or Symbolic Lodge) which has 3 degrees, the third being Master Mason which is the highest degree in Freemasonry.
Others have said this equally well in previous responses.
to some other responses:
* Freemasonry teaches nothing of the sort that Jesus is not God or your savior, Freemasonry does not deal with religion. Despite what some people may believe, it is not true that if it is not for God it is against God. if that were true than almost everything would be against God --- the NFL, every corporation in the world, medicine, etc... and if you participated, supported or used anything provided by any of these you would too be against God.
* I do not know about vegans, freemasons are not atheists; you cannot be a freemason if you are an atheists. wiccans also are not atheists. i imagine somewhere there is a vegan who is an atheist but i know many vegans that are christian --- odd; i did not know that Jesus said "to believe in me you must eat me" I must have missed that in my many readings of the Bible.
* there is nothing in the teaching of freemasonry that has to do with some hidden, secret, occult, or other power. it is a social fraternity that teaches moral lessons. it is that simple.

Freemasons like to tout that their members can practice any religion. Unfortunately they perform some very unchristian practices.
Freemasonry promotes indifferentism, the heretical (to Christians) belief that all religions are equally legitimate attempts to explain the truth about God but that this truth will never be explained. This is incompatible with Christian faith because Christians believe that God has definitively revealed Himself in the person of Jesus Christ, and desires that all men come to the knowledge of this truth.
Freemasonry's teachings and practices also result in syncretism which is the blending of different religious beliefs into a unified whole. This shown in Masonry's religious rituals, which gather men of all faiths around a common altar, and place all religious writings along side the Bible on the Masonic altar.
The Lodge's practice of requiring its members to swear immoral oaths is also incompatible with Christianity. These oaths require a Christian to swear on the Holy Bible that he will uphold a code of moral conduct that prefers Masons to non-Masons, and to preserve secret passwords and handshakes. Such oaths are immoral because they are trivial and not necessary. These oaths are sworn under penalties of physical torture and death (e.g., having my throat cut across, and my tongue torn out by its roots). These penalties show a lack of respect for God.

Seems the Catholics, especially the one who calls himself Father K and the other Imacatholic, act as though they understand the innerworkings of Freemasonry. I have but one question. Have either of you two ever attended any of the Masonic Rites? No, you haven't. So stop acting like you know what goes on inside the temple. You are both rude and judgemental about things you know nothing about. Interesting that you both appear to represent the Catholic church.

Free Masons are just a boys club for guys to meet up and meet other respected guys to hang out with. By joining the club you were deemed trustworthy enough to do buisness with and socialise with, without the risk of meeting some dodgy character. they understood the power you could get from occult symbols and numbers which they used in their persuits in buisness and construction ect. I believe that religion didnt really matter as long as you were a trustworthy guy.

My grandfather was a free mason and a Christian.
Being a free mason is more like being in a fraternity, that's all.

Many go to church, or in others countries they go to other religious houses. They find out in the 33rd. degree level that they are indeed serving Lucifer.

If your uncle is that far up the ranks of Masonry, I HIGHLY doubt he's Christian, dark and light do NOT mix. One of the unheralded and least known facts about Freemasonry and the Masonic Lodge is its Jewish origins and nature. The religion of Judaism, based on the Babylonian Talmud, and the Jewish Cabala (or, Kabala), an alchemical system of magic and deviltry, form the basis for the Scottish Rite's 33 ritual degree ceremonies.
Thus, The Jewish Tribune of New York, on October 28, 1927, stated; "Masonry is based on Judaism. Eliminate the teachings of Judaism from the Masonic Ritual and what is left?"
The well known rabbi, Isaac Wise, was emphatic when he concluded: "Freemasonry is a Jewish establishment, whose history, grades, official appointments, passwords, and explanations are Jewish from beginning to end."

The idolatrous image of the double-headed eagle shown here on the cover of Albert Pike's classic text, Morals and Dogma is a much-treasured symbol of Jewish Masons. It represents the Babylonian god of money and forces, Mammon-Ra, as well as the Hegelian dialectical process. This same symbol is the "Masonic Jewel" awarded high-level Masons initiated into the 33rd degree.
In the classic treatise of the Masons, Morals and Dogma, authored by the late Sovereign Grand Commander of the Scottish Rite, Albert Pike, we discover the revelation that the Jewish cabala is the very basis of Masonic practice and ritual and that the cabalistic "Theology of the Sephiroth" is at the root of all Masonic knowledge. This, admits Pike, is "high magic," the "Sacerdotal Art," and the "Royal Art."
The Jewish cabalistic nature of Masonry is demonstrated by the Lodge's odd view of evil. Pike writes: "The true name of Satan, the Kabalists say, is that of Yahweh reversed; for Satan is not a black god, but the negation of God...For the Initiates, this is not a Person, but a Force, created for good, but which may serve for evil. It is the instrument of Liberty and Free Will."
As for Lucifer, the alternate name for the Devil, the former Sovereign Grand Commander frankly admits that he, Lucifer, is a good angel, and a divine god worthy of our esteemed worship. "Doubt it not!," Pike commands.
Intimating that the antichrist, the one whom the Bible warns shall have the unholy, combined triple number 666, is the one whom the Masons (Jews) await? and shall recognize as their Messiah, Pike cryptically refers to the "Triple Secret of the Great Work."
Of course, he adds, "Masonry...conceals its secrets from all except the Adepts and Sages, and uses false explanations and misinterpretations of its symbols to mislead."
Having studied the dark recesses of occultism and satanism for years I can assure you that Masonry, which, as Pike, Wise, and others assure us, is nothing more than pure Jewish cabalism, is rife with sorcery and witchcraft.
It is of great interest that in the book of Revelation, chapter 18, verse 23, we are told that the bloody and wicked, last days "Great City," Mystery Babylon (Jerusalem!? see Revelation 11:8), shall constitute a vast Empire of Evil that is to compass the whole earth. Its octopus-like tentacles spread via its control of money, banking, and commerce. Its rich men are secretly also sorcerers who merchandise both products and the souls of men: "...for your merchants were the great men of the earth; for by your sorceries were all the nations deceived."
When we survey the traditions of the Masonic sect, we see sorcery and witchcraft in abundance. We view their unmitigated worship of Mammon, their god. We also see how the Masonic Lodge is pleased to welcome in its ranks not only Jews but Gentiles, even apostate Moslem's, Buddhists, and men of every religion...and no religion. Yet, Jews remain "first among equals," to use George Orwell's phrase from Animal Farm. They are the "Princes of Masonry" (Morals & Dogma, p. 819).
"Freemasonry is deceptive and fraudulent...Its promise is light its performance is darkness"
John Quincy Adams
It was, I am convinced, his strong Christian faith and religious convictions, as well as his thirst for justice and his common sense, that ignited the intense desire in Adams not only to expose the falsehoods inherent in Freemasonry, but also his desire to discourage men of good will from joining or participating in what he clearly saw as an unethical, unscriptural, and unholy secret society.
If he needed any additional justification, it was the tragic murder of Captain William Morgan in the state of New York in the year 1826 that further heightened Adams sense of urgency to warn of the dangers of the Masonic Lodge. Morgan, an ex-Mason, had revealed some of the secrets of the Masons oaths, handshakes and ritual trappings, etc. In retaliation, he was ritually murdered in a particularly gruesome manner, and his lifeless, mutilated body abandoned in a lake.
The facts of Morgans murder were subsequently covered up by lawful authorities, reputed themselves to be Masons. When evidence ensued that the Masonic Society had assisted the culprits responsible for Morgans death to elude capture and escape punishment, the event caused a national scandal. Newspapers and periodicals across America especially those whose publishers and editors were not Masonic initiates and supporters carried all the gory details of the Morgan affair. Politicians were forced to take sides; some went so far as to found the Anti-Mason political party to elect candidates and enact legislation to overturn what many feared and suspected was the undue influence of the Lodge throughout government and society.

Masons are NOT Christians! Masons take a vow to uphold beliefs that are against Christianity, such as Jesus not being God. But Jesus is God. So masons are following unchristian principles.
If you come across someone that says they're "christian" and mason, avoid them.
