My GSD is very aggressive towards other dogs he barks and goes wild when he sees one. He is now 1 yrs. old. I'm scared the city is going to take him away because they just passed a law dogs can't be aggressive towards people or dogs. Is it to late for training? How can I get him socialised with out him going crazy at the other dogs?

You MUST work with a professional dog trainer and/or behavior consultant. This is an extremely difficult behavior to stop on your own. Some dogs never stop this reactivity, but you can train him to be better. Punishment will probably make his aggressive responses escalate. So, find a trainer who uses positive reinforcement. See link for tips on finding a good trainer and behavior consultant.

You need to have a behavioral trainer work one on one with you and the dog until he is safe enough for you to enroll in classes with others.
One on one work will teach you how to gain control of the dog and how to correct his aggressive attitude.
Once you have that under control classes are great aswith all the stuff going on in them it teaches the dog to look to the handler for guidance and teachs them to listen to you.
Look for a trainer who has some experience with assertive or aggressive dogs. As local humane societies, shelters, vets, or breeds specific rescues many have trainers they can recommend or ones they work with.

You need a professional dog trainer or dog behavoirist . Since laws have been passed this must corrected as soon as possible . Since this has probably gone on for soo long you cannot do this alone .

Its never too late to train them :) umm thers lots of ways you can stop dogs doing things like that .. say if they bark at another dog .. you can punish them by getting a bottle and filling it with stones and shake it infront of them when they bark ..or.. you can get a bottle with a sports cap and fill it with water and when they bark squirt them with it .. it does sound a bit harsh but the more you do it the less he'l bark :)

hope it helps

Easiest way is to take him for group obedience training - he will be wild at first, but will get used to other dogs as he progresses.

You really need to socialize this dog, and fast.
Obedience classes socializes and teaches you how to handle and train your dog.

Good luck - don't wait. Ask your vet for a reference to a good trainer who gives group classes or try a large pet store like Petco, they schedule classes too.
