I'm feeling you on that!!!! I Believe it never went away it's just were you live make you believe it's gone. Once you come out and explore, you'll find that it exsist. to me they just dressed it up a little. I'm from the city and there is no problem but in the south yes there will always be an issue. why? Because it has been taugh to the children of ignorant people. To me it's sad because we all bleed and die. whats the differance.People need to understand that what you plant will grow rather it will be pretty or ugly only you have the power to change it . I pray it will change and if not you will be single out now how ugly is that. We are in 2007-2008 coming up so. I really feel bad for those children that don't know no better . I blame the family tree, everybody on the tree, change is good. It starts at home.

the usa has a racial problem because people refuse to let the past die. people in the deep south are still angry that their "work force" was taken from them. african-americans are still bitter about what happened to their ancestors. everyone is mad about a problem that happened in the past and are trying to compensate for their lost. they refuse to start over with what is happening right now and are just living in their own butts because of something that happened to their ancestors. instead of just compensating, they are all greedy to the point of thinking they deserve a lot more than they actually do.
however, i think it's unfair of you to just limit it to the usa. the entire world has a racial problem. look at history. there have been wars because of it not just between countries but within countries themselves. many countries in africa have diminishing populations and cultures because other cultures have a problem with them. no matter how far you go back in history, you will find people with racist attitudes who are causing problems.
i think the world still has a problem because people were born into these ideals and since tradition is one of the strongest motivators, that's what they live by. yes it may change between who is being persecuted, but i don't think the problem will ever go away.

Because people refuse to grow up and also people refuse to take the blame for their mistakes Ex:
There are 4 of us that work as security at this Town Homes Complex. I am white, the other female is Hispanic mix with a half black son, and the guys are black and Vietnamese. You would think that with these four different races, we wouldn't have to deal with racism right? Wrong. Every time we give out a citation or tow their car, it is because of their race. Sorry, you broke the rules and if we towed your car, we never saw what race you were, we just saw a car that was parked illegally and there are signs everywhere indicating where you can and cannot park. Pay up to your mistakes and stop trying that racism crap.

Because everyone wants to ***** about something all the time. Instead of celebrating our diversity, we'd rather complain and use excuses as to why things don't go our way.
The principles and beliefs this country was founded on to become a "melting pot" of different races was a great idea. We need to stop putting "insert nationality here" before say what we are. We all are Americans, Plain and simple. Be proud of your heritage, but all of our ancestors came here because they wanted opportunity at something better than they had.
They became Americans and learned the language to be something better than they were before. We seem to have lost sight of that in recent years and want to separate ourselves from everyone else by splitting off into groups like "Latino" Americans, "African" Americans, "Caucasian" Americans, etc etc. We need to remember why we're here, and that we all live here as one Nation and stop bickering.

As long as people continue to perpetuate their differences, we will never get past racial issues. It is not only races that do this, it's also true of genders and cultures.

Because some people are ignorant enough to think that they are better than others and obviously have a lot of time on their hands to waste on something they have no control over.

Every country has it. Many races are raciest against themselfs. Most of it goes deeper than just black,& white. I don't think it will ever completely go away. You think it's getting worse, but thats only because of the media. Believe me , It's much better than years ago.

I think if it wasn't racism, it'd be ageism. If not that, sexism. If not sexism, homophobia. If it wasn't that, it'd be something else. If it wasn't... People segregate each other, congregate with groups of similar people, look for differences that might put them ahead of others... It almost seems like that's just how people operate.

Patriotism.

If people would only realize that we live in man-made borders and all people should be equal.
