Dreaming about snakes means that you are not addressing issues that need to be addressed. Snakes represent change, among other things. What changes in your life does your mother want you to make?

Snakes have always been a sign for Satan, ever since the Garden of Eden. So it sounds like what is being represented here is evil words and ideas being spoken to you in order to deceive or influence you in a negative way (I say this because it was the MOUTH of the snake that was emphasized in the dream, and of course it is from the mouth that most evil comes). In other words, it is not so much a physical threat, but a spiritual one. Also, the fact that there were three is very telling as well - Satan often likes to imitate God (e.g. the Trinity). Therefore, the nature of the deception could be one that might have an appearance of godliness.
Your mom "waking up" may be what needs to happen spiritually so that she can properly guide you (according to the Holy Spirit). If she "falls back to sleep" you will be in danger to this influence. You mentioned that you and her are "world's apart" as far as location. Is there a chance she is a strong, Christian woman?
Edit: I might add that it is extremely interesting that you wrote in selecting a best answer to your question regarding the blasphemy at the Emmy's, "If only she knew the unimaginable power in her words."

It probably means that your mother had been thinking of you and snakes. Her subconscious put the two together and made a little story.
It may also be that she's worried about you, and the snakes were a symbol of that.
Or maybe she saw some snakes on TV and was thinking about them before she went to sleep.
Dreams aren't nearly as significant as some people seem to think they are. They're simply reflections of subconscious thoughts. They don't predict the future, or impart any knowledge that you don't already have.

She has anxiety of being separated from you and not being there when you need help.
I don't know why snakes particularly, maybe she saw a documentary on deadly snakes recently. Maybe she pulling it from the Garden of Eden myth as a devil/evil image.

Just a wild stab in the dark, since the interpretation of dreams belongs to the LORD, but are those three snakes actually three people that you know?
Do you know three people who act all nice to you? (like wolves in sheep's clothing perhaps)?
If that has any meaning, then avoid them at all cost, and get out of the situation that involves you with them.
It could also be three very dangerous temptations that will come across your path very soon, that you need to resist because one of them might possibly destroy your life if you yield to it.

The way it has been explained to me, is that dreams are simply unresolved issues that you try to resolve in your dream state since they are going unresolved in our wakeful life. So much depends upon Your belif and your mom's belief in snakes. See that you are literally a world apart from each other she is helpless is your reality but in her dream state she can save you.

It is a fallacy to think that there is any consistent "meaning" to
dreams. The same dream might have different sources and
different possible meanings to different people. Any specific
dream doesn't necessarily have any particular meaning. People who pretend to be able to interpret dreams are either
fooling themselves or trying to fool someone else.

Don't go on any planes.
It could be nothing, but I could hazard a guess and say that it is because your mother is worried about you being so far away.
