I agree 100% with angeltress. Christians don't riot in the streets. I'm not opposed to writing a letter expressing disapproval or even in some cases boycotting a company that is extremely offensive to or insulting to Christianity. However if it would have been Mohammed there would probably be worst than rioting. Heads would probably roll, literally. That is why a comic that poked fun at Islam was removed from a N.Y. newspaper, because they knew that people were likely to die if it ran. They cited the whole "Satanic Verses" inscident. It would be out of character as Christians to riot but well within our rights and responsibilities to speak up and defend our faith and our Lord. God bless!!

Friend, I don't know a Kathy Griffen, or who she is, So I can not make a complaiment, But I do know True Christians will NOT riot in a street, In fact True Christians will not even walk in a march or protest of something, at least for myself, as a Christian for over 37 yrs. I have never done anything like that nor do I plan on doing anything like that.

Why, in heaven's name, do you think that I, as a Christian, ought to concern myself with what Kathy Griffen, of all people, has to say about Jesus?
Do you think her opinion will somehow invalidate my faith?
Do you even suppose that her "trash talk" will keep me from my ultimate destiny?
If anything, I am concerned for Kathy. Poor kid, she is missing out on knowing Jesus! That's a shame!!
OH, just so you know...Christians have the peace that only Jesus is able to give to us...we have no need to riot in the street.
Christians are not anything at all like Muslims.
(Just thought I'd mention that in passing...)

Kathy's parents were Catholic - and raised her Catholic... but she rejected the idea of there being a God long ago. She's very direct about that.
In the past year, she's been through a divorce and the death of her Father... so if she were to be approached about God - her hurt and anger would come into at play, voicing again her rejection.
Those who know anything about her from her show on Bravo - knows she prefers to spit at anything of faith... this leads many of us to hold her in prayer... not condemnation. Her heart is deeply wounded - and she needs the Love of Christ, not the venom of the offended.
Offence is a trap of the devil, leading us into the sin of anger and passing judgement. The Greek word used in the New Testement is actually where we get the word "Scandal."
G4624
ÏκανδαλιÌζÏ
skandalizoÌ
skan-dal-id'-zo
To “scandalize”; from G4625; to entrap, that is, trip up (figuratively stumble [transitively] or entice to sin, apostasy or displeasure): - (make to) offend.
Why give the devil more fuel for his fire?
We are also to leave the judgement to God.
Matthew 7:1-2 "Do not judge others, so that God will not judge you, for God will judge you in the same way you judge others, and he will apply to you the same rules you apply to others.
1st Corinthians 5:12a After all, it is none of my business to judge outsiders. God will judge them......
Our God is big enough to handle Kathy Himself, without humans rioting in the streets. Our offence would not serve Him. We simply need to pray faithfully for the Holy Spirit to work on her heart and life.
Peace.

The outrage is much more discreet. Instead of rioting, they pressure television companies to censor the remarks. That way, no violence AND they get their way. Smart. Totally wrong, but smart.

I hadn't heard about it yet, so I just went and looked it up. Disgraceful and pathetic. Fortunately they're editing those specific remarks out.
EDIT: I just came across a second article on this (bottom link), that includes the offensive remark and she says "I hope I offended some people. I didn't want to win the Emmy for nothing."

If others are not censored for thanking a fictional character, I see no excuse for censoring those who don't. She's entitled to her point of view, and her remarks should not be cut from the program.

Well I don't disagree on the fact that Jesus didn't have anything to with her winning her award, I mean that's obvisious giving the content of her show. I don't like the fact that she took that shot at Jesus but theres nothing I can do and I believe that God will take care of her in his own time and way. "Vengance is MINE sayeth the Lord"

It's called free speech. She's entitled to her opinion. Why do you want to control others? They are entitled to their own thoughts.
