Dear Rove,
Jealousy is not necessarily a bad thing. Remember that God has a relationship with His people.
Wouldn't you be ticked off if your boyfriend started flirting with other girls and did whatever he wanted and forgot about you. In this case you would say that your jealousy is not only justified but a good thing!
God's jealousy is different from the way that people act out their jealousy. God will not "hound us" and "nag us". But he wants people to know He loves them, He cares and He wants what's best -- and it's up to people to respond accordingly.

it truly is it. There *are* different gods (with a small g). distinctive religions have distinctive gods and a few instruct that the guy IS the god. He must be jealous. He provides us lots and asks little or no in return.

ofcording to the bible im looking at the quote is
"don't bow down and worship idols. I am the Lord your God and I demnd all your love if you reject me and worship idols i will ounish you for 3 or 4 generations....blah blah blah"\
So yes God of the bible is infact jealous.
My god's arnt jealous, if you turn your back on them, it makes them sad. But they feel its a free world, so they get over it.

Jealous in that sense means God wants your devotion to him alone. Not in other idols. If you love the Lord, why would you need idols anyway, right? You wouldn't want your child calling another man or woman their parent when you are 100 percent there giving them all they need, mentally and physically. That title is just for you, no one else.

OMG has had control issues in the past. Maybe he finally learned to just walk away or is currently on a sabbatical. I would have thought Satan to be more of the jealous type anyway.

God does not want us to put anything ahead of Him:
Exodus 34:14
For thou shalt worship no other god: for the LORD, whose name is Jealous, is a jealous God:
Deuteronomy 5:7
Thou shalt have none other gods before me.

Anyway.. what God means is that He wants you to worship Him only, and have no other gods, except for Him. That's how crazy God is about us!
