buddhism isnt like other god-worshipping religions. Its all about trying to achieve freedom from the material world. Meditation plays a key role in this.
Take five minutes to stretch out your back and neck. Then go crosslegged on the floor. Make sure you are somewhere comfortable, but nowhere distracting. (no couches...). Outside under a tree is good. Now take deep breaths and just relax. Dont think about anything. Just clear your mind. These are the firs steps anyhow.
For more devout buddhists...well...you could renounce all material worth (your house, clothes, everything) and join a temple. There you will meditate A LOT, eat as little as possible and shave your head. Sound good?

hi, there are a number of solutions to this incredibly . It incredibly relies upon on which Buddhist college (or custom ) which you save on with . each college has its particular set of on a regular basis practice. IMHO , i think of the theory in on a regular basis practice must be summed in this sentence : " to not do all evil , To do all reliable , Purify the suggestions , it incredibly is the training of all Buddhas. " yet differently of reading this may be : Purify your actual strikes , Purify your speech and Purify your suggestions. ( This encompassed the Noble 8 fold course and the 5 Precepts ) Your actual strikes ( actual strikes ) , your speech and your suggestions are your gadgets that create your karma ( regardless of if detrimental Karma or reliable karma ) in this international. So, to loose your self from the suffering , you're able to initiate purifying the actitivities that comes out of your gadgets. So, how do you initiate purifying them ? you initiate off by capacity of watching the Precepts on a regular basis. as properly to that , while you're a disciple of a Buddhist college , then you extremely apart from would do the particular set of practice prescribed . was hoping this helps.

Practice meditation daily. Zazen is Enlightenment, Enlightenment is zazen. These are not different but the same.
As for becomming one...find a teacher. As silly as it sounds a good teacher is essential. Go to google, and look for the word "sangha" and your town or city.

Buddhists should spend time studying the origins of their religion to determine if it has a LIVING God or if it is just the worship of a now dead human who happened to be very wise.

"The most important thing in Buddhism is searching for the most important thing." - Suzuki Roshi (I think)
Practicing mindfulness and acting with compassion toward all beings seem to me the most important daily 'practices'.
