Heard on 9/12/2007 on KSDK TV that Hart Auto Body donates or sells cars to needy. Please explain.

I have no specific information regarding the auto body shop that you mentioned but there are a lot of Non Profit Organizations that will accept used cars, regardless of condition, as a charitable donation. The agency then sells the car and uses the cash to fund their charity.

It's a great way to get rid of an unwanted car and turn it into a tax deductible donation for you, especially if you're sending it to the junk yard anyway, why not let a charity get the $200 from the sale of the scrap metal and you get to write it off on your taxes.
