A friend of mine that I met at work set me up with her brother. Well, to make a long story short he is a dead beat pathetic loser. My friend and I get along great so I cant understand y she would suggest this when he is so horrible. How can she as a woman think to hurt another woman,me, in this manner since he brings her to her knees on a daily basis....y then in turn do it to me? Help me understand.
P.S.
No she didnt mention her brotherly problems she made it seem like he was a decent person.

This happened some time ago. I personally think she was trying to dump him off on me so she wouldnt have to deal with him.
Here is the story as it was told to me and as I expierenced it. He stole money from her constantly, "borrowed" her car while she was sleeping and dented it, etc. She tells me all of this after we had started dating and after I became pregnant which sadly was not consensual............. So that is where my anger and frustration comes in. Then to my complete surprise she tells everyone at work if she were in my shoes she would never keep the child as it is taboo to be a single parent AND has now sided with her lame brother and I am an outcast................

Maybe she thought you would be a good influence on him. But it's not your job to fix him for her. Or worse, if he treats her badly, maybe he has his eye on you and forced her to fix you up with him.
In either case, baby, you need to steer seriously clear.

It's possible that she either didn't know the extent of her's brother's loserness. People are much different towards their family than they are to a person they are dating. Also, there is a chance that your friend at work really does think her brother is a decent person and didn't set you up with him as mean gesture; she may have thought she was doing you a favor.
I wouldn't assume she was trying to hurt you. Because she is your friend, I would just say you guys didn't click like that but thank her for introducing you. Unless he was THAT bad, in that case, you may want to ask her if she was aware of how he is. Unless he was rude or innappropriate I wouldn't being it up though. You never know if he is going through a rough spot and your friend thought you would be a good person for him to know.

Maybe she sees another side of him, and doesn't know he's a pathetic loser. I'm not sure what you meant when you said "he brings her to his knees on a daily basis." Other than that sentence, is it possible that she really thought that you too would hit it off? And I'm really curious about her "brotherly problems!" I think I need more info! :)

Because of the fact that the 2 of you are close and she likes you, she may have thought that you could turn her brother around to be a functioning adult. It's to bad that you fell like you were used like that though. Well, now you know that you'll have to trust your own judgement and not someone else's, friend or no friend. Hurt you? How did she hurt you? You got set up with some guy who turned out to be, in your opinion, a pathetic loser. So what? You don't like the guy, so don't see him again. What have you lost? How have you been "hurt?"
And you haven't even specified "why" he is a loser. How has he brought his sister "to her knees on a daily basis?"
Bottom line: if you don't like the guy, don't see him.
