I have two chihuahuas and it is the food you are feeding her she might be allergic to her food and it is causing the scratching . I now feed hollistic food and that is the only kind mine can and will eat without throwing up or scratching . But first off give her a bath with an oatmeal shampoo or an all natural shampoo and then get k9 advantix you can purchase both at petsmart . I reccomend you do this and you will see the itching stop . good luck .

My puppy scratches too and she is a chi mix (mut I know). We switched her food. She was on Purina One Puppy and we are just about finished switching her to Canidae. I think it may have been the corn or wheat, but I'm not sure. I'll find out for certain once she's on the new food for a few weeks. Seems like the itching is going away a bit, but she's not all the way on the new food yet, so hard to tell. If it's fleas, wet her down, lather her up really well with Dawn dishwashing soap, let it sit 15 minutes and rinse (extremely well). That killed fleas on my baby when I got her. Now she's on Frontline.

Walmart sells all kinds of wonderful products that help with itching. I also have a chihuahua that has that problem.

Does she have fleas? If she does, the best I can think of for quick relief is using Dawn and sprinkling garlic in her food, to repel fleas.
