John McCain eh? I'm actually good friends with the guy who is in charge of his campaigning in Virginia, D.C., and Maryland. One of my favorite quotes of all time was said by him:
(Speaking of the terrorists after 9/11) "May God have mercy on their souls....because we will not"
He's a war veteran (always a plus!) and is from your home state! I'm not a big fan of his gun control legislation, or his stance on illegal aliens (which I am VERY strongly against), however, I do support him on most of his other Republican views, such as supporting the death penalty. I think he's a great war hero, however, I feel we have yet to see what kind a politician he can be. I fear he may be a little TOO grey. But that may be a good thing, so we'll see.
Fred Thompson on the other hand, I love his views on gun control, immigration, global warming, and his stance on Iraq. Plus I also like how he doesn't sugar coat things and tells it like it is.
I'll have to watch closer in the coming months, but these two are my top two candidates. It'll be interesting to see how their political personalities unfold as the elections grow near.
*I didn't really post on the immigration part. I feel that if an immigrant wants to become a citizen, they have the right to, LEGALLY, and learn the language first. Having illegals get paid $20 an hour doing landscaping and taking jobs away does not float my boat. Nor does the fact that everytime you pick up a phone and call a company, you have to actually tell the recording that you want to do it in English. It's a joke. I feel that the fact that so many illegals come in our country every year now, it's effecting literally everything in our everyday lives. I guess my whole feeling is, with how many people who are immigrants and aren't lazy that actually take the time and effort, learn about our country, and become LEGAL citizens, then why can't all the rest? And if that's too much to ask, then I don't want you here.

He is a great patriot. And he's a fairly good politician. His heart is in the right place. But with his liberal stance on immigration he is ruining any serious chance he had at being a contender for the presidency.

He was a POW and deserves our admiration and thanks for what he sacrificed in the Viet Nam War...he does champion many things for the Military, but I do not agree with him on Immigration...that is why I will not support him for President...but like the Soldiers said above, I will support Fred Thompson...

I have been very disappointed in him. His campaign finance reform bill (McCain-Fiengold) was a huge blow to the 1st Amendment. I was equally disappointed in Bush signing it. His stance on immigration doesn't power my train either.

i do no longer hate the militia. I even have compassion for the families harmed by ability of wars doing away with kin whilst they are mandatory at domicile. the infantrymen i've got faith attempt to do an honorable interest in a much from honorable difficulty. I hassle for a fashion they're going to come back. in the event that they get to return back. Being a human objective 24/7 leaves a guy or woman replaced perpetually. As one in each and every of Jehovah's Witnesses, we are of direction prepared on human beings suffering. we want they did no longer and understand that quickly they're going to now no longer go through by ability of God's Kingdom taking on the earth. We Jehovah's Witnesses are infantrymen as nicely. Our weapons are actually not actual through fact the enemy isn't actual. we are scuffling with wicked spirit forces. "11 positioned on the completed fit of armor from God which you would be waiting to stand employer against the machinations of the devil; 12 through fact we've a wrestling, no longer against blood and flesh, yet against the governments, against the government, against the worldwide rulers of this darkness, against the wicked spirit forces interior the heavenly places. " ------” (Ephesians 6:11-18) Our allegiance is to God's Kingdom, to no longer any human government. we live right here, artwork right here, obey the guidelines of the land as nicely as is achievable.Human governments have not have been given any real answer to the matters we are dealing with. So none are my applicants for something. So we don't vote. Neither would we kill yet another brother on an opposite component in a conflict. as nicely we don't back any government on earth. So we don't pass into the militia. super whoop. Governments truly ought to be chuffed they have a collection of human beings paying taxes, obeying the regulation, and not telling them a thank you to run their countries. countries ought to desire to import us truly than concern us.

He is alright. I think he rides the political fence a bit too much. I'm a Rep. and I won't be voting for him.
