When it displays DD it means there are two channels of 24 bit digital audio. When it displays DD 5.1 it is in five channel surround mode (this depends on whether the source has a five channel soundtrack). WMA stands for Window Media Audio and is an audio compression method similar (but not quite) to MP3.

The best would be DD 5.1 (if the source has a five channel soundtrack). Next would be DD two channel and the third would be WMA.

WMA pro is a multi-channel audio codec from Microsoft.
Since both DD 5.1 and WMA Pro are multichannel formats and since you can play both, why don't you just listen to both and decide for yourself.? Audio fidelity is VERY subjective.

Dolby Digital 5.1.

Both Dolby Digital and WMA Pro are competing lossy digital audio data compression technologies.

Dolby Digital, aka AC-3, is a common digital audio standard developed by Dolby Laboratories to compress and transport up to 5.1-channels of digital audio data.

WMA Pro (Windows Media Audio Professional) is a more recent digital audio standard developed by Microsoft Corporation to compress and transport up to 5.1- or 7.1-channels (and higher) of digital audio data.

Not unlike standard two-channel PCM audio streams, both compressed digital audio formats are intended to utilize the S/PDIF* (Sony/Philips digital interface format) ports, whether coaxial (RCA) or optical (TOSlink,) found on most consumer-grade audio devices, including set-top DVD players, audio/video (A/V) receivers, Windows PCs, portable hand-held music players, etc.

As good as WMA Pro may be it isn’t nearly as well supported as plain ol’ WMA and Dolby AC-3 compressed digital audio formats. Therefore finding stereo or multi-channel audio content encoded in the WMA Pro format will be far more unlikely than Dolby Digital, which is mandated in most consumer video standards such as DVD-Video, Blu-ray, HD DVD and ATSC.

All things being equal the latest version of Windows Media Audio Professional should provide better audio quality than Dolby Digital (AC-3) at any equivalent bit-rate supported by both formats.

Microsoft is pushing very hard to position itself as a dominant player in both the slowly evolving (hardware) convergence market and the media content market in part by leveraging its significant investment in audio (WMA) and video (VC-1) data compression technologies.

*(IEC Standard: IEC-60958 Type II.)

To obtain the utmost detail and accuracy when evaluating the audio quality of various audio codecs (below) I highly recommend using ear canal (or in-ear) type earphones such as Shure or Ultimate Ears or as an alternative more conventional electrodynamic headphones such as Sennheiser (HD 600, HD 650) or Grado Labs.
