Dear LordVader (cool name by the way- Big Star Wars Fan),

Anyhow one thing to remember about sin- is that it is more an issue of the heart-- that leads to whatever action.

The Bible is quite clear that sex is to be between a man and a woman in the context of a marriage. The Bible is also quite clear that the husband and wife are to love and to satisfy one another (emotionally and sexually- see Song of Solomon).

So to engage in sex in a marriage without love may not be sinful. But to not have love in a marriage is the deeper issue- and there may be sinful action and attitudes attached to that. In any healthy marriage- if there's love there will be sex.

In terms of romantic love without sex for Christians this is the way they honor God while dating (before marriage). The Bible does not require married couples to have sex- but it assumes that this is part of a marriage (the two will become one). Be fruitful and multiply. The Bible even warns couples about using sex as a tool to manipulate your own way- "Honey i won't have sex with you unless you do this or that." The verse i think is in Corinthians when it talks about not withholding physically from your spouse. And so i would say if a couple had a healthy marriage but no sex- there might be some deeper issue going on there too...

Hope this was helpful. Kindly,

Nickster

God said to love your neighbor as yourself. Doing ANYTHING without love is going against this command and is therefore a sin.

It is entirely possible to engage in romantic love without sex. If you thnk you cannot, then you are a VERY poor lover.

well to me makeing love and haveing sex are the same thing. what does it matter if you want to have fun or be a prude is intirley up to yourself. and everyone sins more then they think. it is said if you look at a women with sexual. intentions with one eye you must take it out and if you touch you must cut off your hand. so if these are the rules does anything change or would you still do what you want to do.

I would never do the former. It is hollow and i'm not entitled to sex just because i feel like it. It can do so much damage like the Death Star.

The latter is just fine and is what i practice. When i get married i'll add the physical part.

It is a sin to be involved sexually without the aid of marriage.

Anything else you say about it must first fit into this framework.

Yes. Unless you hate yourself and... well, I won't go there. But love without sex is fine, well, for most people.
