‘God will give someone wealth honour and property, yes, everything he wants, but then will not let him enjoy it, some stranger will enjoy it instead.’

This referes to materialism, what is the message this quote is trying to put across to people?
Please help.

I think it may be that people desire material excess to give them happiness and pride, and are given it, obstensibly due to God's will, but are unable to appreciate it (whether it is due to guilt, feeling obliged to pay God back and thus not being able to enjoy the blessing, or just due to human nature of always desiring more).

Dear tpopy,

Please site the Scripture--- i think this is a very paraphrased version and i want to make sure that the passage is understood in its context- ie: the book of the Bible- whom was being addressed etc.

You can email it to me too- if you want and i'll reply.

Hope that helps. Kindly,

Nickster

I think I could better help you if you cited which scripture this is. It's very familiar but I believe you may be quoting a paraphrased version of the Bible.
