I would think twice about walking barefoot wherever dogs or cats for that matter, relieve themselves. Humans can get Creeping eruption or cutaneous larval migrans caused by the penetration of the skin by larval stages of the dog and cat hookworm genus Ancylostoma. We can also develop visceral larval migrans from ingesting the infective larvae, within the eggs, of the Toxocara canis or Roundworm. Young children are most susceptible since they stick their hands in their mouths while playing in dirt without washing their hands.

Sure, all the time. My dog doesn't wear shoes. Wait... oh you meant me?? Well, yes I have walked them with all of us barefoot.

My dogs go barefooted all the time - even in winter.

As to me - I try to wear shoes because my tender little feet can't stand the rocks, sticks and splinters I inevitably pick up on walkies.
