There is a very nice pair of articles in the September 4, 2007 issue of Eos, Transactions of the American Geophysical Union, on the connection between global warming and hurricanes in the Atlantic. There's a link below, it might not work for you though. Even if you can't get the two Eos articles, in general, the ongoing science debate concerning a link between global warming and hurricane frequency and intensity is interesting and relevant. Google "global warming hurricanes" and you will find a bunch of information. Also, the RealClimate.org article on this is a good place to start (see link below).

This is the search I used on Google.com, It got me too many links to put here

antarctic icecap melt OR warm OR global

Polar and glacier ice is melting at a rate that hasn't happened since humans have walked the earth. Findings are coming in so fast it's hard to keep up with them While the normal ice age freeze/melt cycles are in the tens of thousands of years in duration, ice is expected to melt that hasn't melted in tens of millions of years.

New information constantly revises old estimates, so you have to be mindful of that. There is also an intensive disinformation campaign being conducted to delay progress on the problems. So please evaluate carefully. I'll send you some stuff from around the world. There are many stories related to this one manifestation of Global Warming

Some links that I've pulled up completely at random, they're all to do with the effects of global warming, hope there's some useful things amongst them...
