Matt 26:35
Peter said unto him, Though I should die with thee, yet will I not deny thee. Likewise also said all the disciples.
And what do you think of these verses?
Matt 5:34-37
But I say unto you, Swear not at all; neither by heaven; for it is God's throne:
Nor by the earth; for it is his footstool: neither by Jerusalem; for it is the city of the great King.
Neither shalt thou swear by thy head, because thou canst not make one hair white or black.
But let your communication be, Yea, yea; Nay, nay: for whatsoever is more than these cometh of evil.

at the same time as we appreciate the government of in spite of u . s . wherein we happen to stay, we don't pledge allegiance to the flag of ANY u . s .. We view this as an act of worship. and since the flag is an emblem of the rustic, this is pronounced as a picture, so it would subsequently additionally be an act of idolatry. The pledge itself is a prayer of dedication to that image. interior the U. S., I fairly have heard fairly some human beings state that once reciting the pledge, the felt like asserting "amen."

I see like this, I do not mind pledging to the Allegiance of America just as long as "one nation under God" stays in the pledge.

Not sure about the Peter/Disciples stuff--it just has to do with people promising to do things they don't actually follow up on.
I don't think Jesus would have pledged allegiance to any country--he wasn't about politics, except maybe social justice.
The Pledge of Allegiance is just a nice way to remind ourselves to be grateful for the country we live in--flawed as it is, it's still the best one around.

after the first one, you left out that Peter then denied Him 3 times.
the other verse means don't say things like " i swear to God, or i swear on my life"...i don't know what the original Hebrew word was that was translated to "swear", not using curse words if that's what you are insinuating

If I let my yes mean yes and my no mean no, then I have given forethought to my answers and my obligations prior to speaking them. If I say yes to something, then I must do it; swearing an oath is of little consequence if my reputation speaks for my truth in speech.
In the olden days a man's word was his bond; I think this is something that we have lost contact with in today's society.

I think that the "Pledge of Allegiance" is simply a subtle nuance to just nail ONE hand to the Crucifixion Cross!

I love the Pledge of Allegiance. I think it's beautiful and my favorite part of it is "one nation under God".

I think you keep posting the same questions to try and get a rise out of Christians...or is it a vain attempt to prove us wrong? (Either way, refer to my answer in your other question.) Nice try, but it won't work with us. Have a good day!
