You aren't giving us ANY truly useful information here but I'll take a guess at what you are talking about...
During WWII Winchester Firearms desined and built (along with 10 other companies) the U.S. M1 Carbine, .30 caliber Semi-Automatic Rifle,Parkerized Finish, 18" Barrel, 15 or 30 shot Magazine, Flip Style, Rear Sights or Adjustable Rear Sights (Depending on variation). It was also produced in a select fire rifle that had fully automatic capabilities. Three versions were manufactured Type I, Type II, and Type III.
One of these "variations" was the M1A "Paratrooper" Carbine with a folding stock.......The only problem you have is that Winchester NEVER MADE THESE PARATROOPER CARBINES WITH FOLDING STOCKS ... They were manufactured by Inland Corporation only and a total of 140,000 were manufactured.
Many of the M1 Carbines offered for sale today are arsenal re-works or have had their stocks/barrels changed to make them appear to be Paratrooper Models when in fact they are not.
I am without ANY doubt this is the case with this gun you are asking about, and have been told is worth a lot of money..
Winchester manufactured Carbines in their regular stock configuration (non-folding) and in original 100% condition, are highly sought after by Collectors. They are worth $800-$1100 in good to excellent condition and 100% original....with all proper markings and cartouches, intact.
By comparison, an Inland Produced original "Paratrooper" Carbine in 95% condition is valued at $2,600 and up to $4,200.
There were over 6 million of these rifles in all variations manufactured by a total of 10 different companies.
You need to do some checking because these guns are often "Counterfeited" to represent something they are not.........

"...Winchester did make them..." Make what? Winchester made all kinds of military firearms.
"...Shortened models of the Garand were tanker models..." No such thing. There were a few built as experimental rifles only. There never was any such a thing as a 'tanker' M1 issued. Any you see are marketing things only.
"...seller says it is all Winchester..." If it's an M1 Carbine or an M1 rifle, it's most likely somebody who has spent a great deal of money and time, finding and installing the parts. 99.99% of all carbines went through an arsenal rebuild after W.W. II.
For an M1 rifle, it's possible, but highly unlikely. After 50 plus years, parts would have worn out and been replaced. Weapons techs did not and do not care who made the part that comes out of a bin. A part gets grabbed and installed. Period.

JD has his facts correct on this.
Before anyone shells out good money for a M1 Carbine folding stock, they had better cross reference the serial number with known Inland production numbers of Para models. There were a lot of post war para stocks floating around and sticking one on a $750 Winchester M1 does not make it worth $3000, although a lot of people have been fooled into paying the price.
As a prolific buyer, trader and collector, I'm sad to report many such bogus attempts to pawn off one thing as another. Buyers need to beware.
Do not pay more than $1000 for a WWII era M1 Carbine with correct hardware without documented thrid-party appraisal that is it authentic.
Also, there are company's that advertise K98 Mausers, and you all know which one I'm talking about with their beautiful full color ad pictures, that sell cleaned up $89 Yugo M48 rifles as 'genuine K98 Mausers' for $299 and up.
The M1 Garand "Tanker" model, which is a shortened M1, is a 1950s and 60s commercial creation, not an authentic or genuine US military issue. Interesting, but never used by any trooper anywhere. Also, they shoot like heck.

I am assuming this is related to your question about the Winchester paratrooper rifle. Winchester made M1 Carbines, and they are certainly sought after. Winchester also made M2 Carbines and they are ridiculously expensive. I think they even made some M1 Garands that might have been shortened for use by paratroopers. But between your two questions there still isn't enough information to be able to give you an answer. What is the nomenclature of the weapon and exactly what do you want to know about it--value? history? legality (a biggie if it's an M2)?
Check out the M1 Carbine entry in Wikipedia to see if the weapon you're talking about is pictured there. I can't vouch for the accuracy of their information, but they have photographs of several variants of the M1 Carbine.

No, you're wrong. This is part of the distortion of reality that socialist systems are trying to shape our minds into. It's not important if the president is white, black, green, male, female or a cow. It should be the administrator of the republic and not a powerful king ruling our lives. We are looking for people that look good and nice because we expect them to be kind to us. It's insane. Our ancestors went to a war to be free and not be ruled by a king. Now we are happy because we can pick it up among the court members? Which one of the candidates is going to give you your freedom back? which one is going to let you make the choices for your life? which one is going to let you keep the money you earn working hard all day every day? which one is really for freedom? No one! So, it doesn't matter if it's the establishment McCain, the soft touch of a woman Clinton or the fresh change of Obama. Nothing changes, nothing. It never happened, it won't happen now. Whoever wins is going to increase the size and power of the government meaning that more and more are going to be supported by the few who do the real work, the ones who offer real products and services to the marketplace, the ones who create real wealth. Right now, if you're one of the unlucky ones with a real job, you're a slave. You work to create wealth for the king and his court and you can't refuse to pay your dues. In fact most of the money is taken from you even before you get paid.

Winchester also manufactured P14 and P17 model 1917 Enfields; along with many other things. They made Garands, they made M1 carbines, yada. Shortened models of the Garand were tanker models but could also be call paratrooper models. Oodles of information out there; much more than we can digest anymore.
