Why would anybody care what their children believed. As long as it makes them feel good and doesn't harm anybody else it is fine.
Studying. Nice to see you again.

I feel good about my son, so far, he listens to my beliefs and lives by the ones that logically fits his life, and doesn't unduly restricts his life choices in any way. (lol, he's 13, and under his mothers thumb - poor guy. 5 more years of tempering and he'll be finest steel blade to face the world. I can't see how he does it, she's quite a piece of work.)
I hope my son is strong enough to make is own way.
We'll really see when he meets the woman he'll want to marry, then the testing gets serious.

No, as an atheist I would never indoctrinate my children, that is one of the most harmful things a parent can do. I will introduce my children to many different cultures and belief systems so they will be well-rounded non-bigoted people and reinforce that whatever they decide, when they are ready, I will love and respect them.

It's their choice, really, if they want to be religious since we are not. I would hope they would not blindly get sucked up into a religion, though.
I also hope they would keep my beliefs of peace, love, understanding, fairness, and the importance of having an open mind.

I would like my children to find peace and wisdom in their own beliefs rather than simply adopt mine as is... I'd like them to carry on the tradition that way, but continue to let their understandings evolve just as I have always done.

Why would I care what my children believed? As long as they know they are loved for who they are not their opinions.... For them all I hope is they become strong willed individuals that can form their own opinions without the direction of other peoples thoughts...

What is it with carrying on beliefs? I would hope that they would carry on with thinking objectively, analyzing the know facts, and making rational decisions. I would hope that if evidence was presented to them they could evaluate it on its merits. If this means that they would change what they belief, great!

No, because I have no children. Even if I did, I would hope that they would be individuals and choose the religion that was right for them, whether it was the same as mine or not.

King David... spoken about as "a man after God's heart" had somewhere about 20 children.
Only one, maybe two.... followed GOD....!
Each Person.... has to settle for Themselves.... their Relationship... with GOD.... or... their Non-Relationship with GOD!
(John 6:37-38) All that the Father giveth me shall come to me; and him that cometh to me I will in no wise cast out.
(Joh 6:38) For I came down from heaven, not to do mine own will, but the will of him that sent me.
Thanks, RR

Well, i keep saying it..."there is a differance between beliefs and knowing" i would rather have my kids to "know" something, than to go around like chickens with their heads cut off just going from one "belief to another", yes, i hope they "know" like their dad!...lol....and what they don't know, they have the courage to "find out!"...lol...
