Formal logic is a way of combining true and false statements, and deducing whether the combined statement is then true or false.
For example, if "a" and "b" are statements, then the
combined statement "a and b" is true if and only if both "a" and "b" are true.
Our experience with logic is that such deductions are always true: they are tautologies. But the rules of logical inference cannot be proven by logic. The rules of logical inference are analogous to simple arithmetic, and are exactly as "true" as the arithmetic of whole numbers, which is to say, pretty darn true. We know of no consistent system of thought where these rules are violated: if you're willing to let 1 = 0, all bets are off as far as discerning truths about the world.

If you are concerned with your arguments getting from A to B without any pointless detours, then logic is for you. Logic itself is concerned with correct reasoning or more specific, the validity (structure) of an argument form.Logic ensures that an argument is truth-preserving. For me, I judge any argument by the simple principle of logical entailment; that is, can I assent to a logical inference from one statement to the next? If so, and the argument stands under rigorous scrutiny of the laws of logic, I'll accept it. If not, the logical thing to do at that point is to ignore the argument entirely. As the old saying goes "That which is asserted without evidence can be dismissed without evidence". According to this maxim, I don't have to justify why I dismiss someone else's argument. It is encumbent upon them to figure out why I dismissed it. And that seems logical to me.

That question isn't logical. Let's say yes. So we find that logic, according to logic is not logical. The thing you are using to judge something else, is what is incorrect. So any conclusion you reach, would be skewed.

logic is only logical given the same set of guides. Since most humans share that general set of inputs we can agree on a common "logic."
so i guess i would say.........logic is functionally logical for a given set of determined rules.

hi, i'm a christian, and that i've got faith that human good judgment is subjective to a man or woman's existence reports. yet God's know-how and know-how surpasses human know-how, so the respond on your question may well be NO. The Bible says: "I incredibly have unfold out My palms all day long to a rebellious people, Who walk in the way which isn't stable, following their very own suggestions" (Isaiah sixty 5:2) by ability of how, your question demonstrates which you of course comprehend no longer something approximately christian Apologetics, Hermeneutics (the artwork and technology of biblical interpretation, or Biblical Exegesis (severe clarification or interpretation of a text cloth). So possibly this is YOU who's lacking intelligence and not christians?? "For my suggestions are no longer your suggestions, neither are your approaches my approaches," pronounces the LORD" (Isaiah fifty 5:8) "there's a manner which seems proper to a guy, yet its end is the way of dying." (Proverbs 14:12)

Logic is the examination of cause and effect. Logic does not deal in 'desired outcomes,' but solely in facts and essential truths, commonly supported by irrefutable evidence.
Yes, logic is logical.

I think logic is much like truth... it's in the eye of the beholder.

It's only as intelligent as its beholder. If something is more intelligent than humans, their logic would seem illogical to humans.
