1dm x 1dm = 1 dm²

10dm = 1m
(10dm)² = 1m²
100dm² = 1m²

dm is a decimeter, which is 1/10th of a meter.
(1/10th)^2 = 1/100th so, 1dm^2 = 0.01m^2
