Yes, that's because tax assessments are done with certain assumptions, and these assumptions aren't always correct. I'm glad you were able to dispute them and got a credit.

And your question really is? By the way, are you talking about federal income tax, state income tax, Real estate taxes, etc? What type of tax assessment are you mentioning here?
