Burps: you swallow air while you chew. Your stomach releases it upwards.

Farts: Your small intestine and colon (everyone's small intestine and colon, actually) contain helpful bacteria. They generate gas as a by-product of their own lifecycle. The gas escapes through the hole at the end of your colon.

Eructation (burp) is pretty straightforward: you swallow air or carbon dioxide (in carbonated beverages), and it comes back out.
Flatulence is a bit more complicated. Normally there's no air in the small intestine, so it's obvious the gas doesn't come from above. Largely it's the byproduct of digestion, either your own, or, more significantly, all those bacteria in your colon, many of which produce a variety of gasses as byproducts of their own metabolism. If you're into bacteriology, an extensive survey of the colonic bacteria and the gasses they produce would be a good research project for a master's thesis, but it would also likely get you a suggestion for psychiatric help!

Mostly it's gas that builds up from digestion of the foods you eat. Hence.. the more beans you eat the more you fart. Or sometimes CO^2 from soda can get in there and cause some commotion and do the same.

i don't know the science behind it but i know if we swallow air when we drink or eat we burp, and something we eat that doesn't agree with our system will build up gas in our stomach, and that's where a fart comes in handy, keep us from swelling up and bursting.

Odorless air is swallowed along with food and drinks and is expelled that way. Some food gets fermented and or decomposed producing bad odor also.
