Hello,
(ANS) The short answer is yes! you can install works version 8 provided you also have the product key that comes with that specific copy of the program.
NOTE: MS Works is an office type suite that is commonly sold along with new PC's & desktop machines. As part of a package deal, it usually comes together included as a bundle with windows. This is because the works program tends to come very cheap due to volume licenses with windows to the PC makers.
However, whilst works does the job its not as nice an application as MS Office and works also has its own proprietary Microsoft file formats which means documents & files created in works have to openned again in a version of MS Works. Unless you are aware of this problem and save files into other more flexible file formats such as RTF or .DOC's etc.
**Because MS Works has a proprietary file formatting I have never been a fan of this program, its always seemed second best to the fully MS Office suite.

You can install it only if you try. The CD is a fixed, unchangeable media, so it shouldn't matter if you (try to) install it once or 1000 times. It may have a hardware specific check routine that would prevent you from installing on another brand of computer. Unless M$ has a serial number registry, you may be successful.

Yes, as long as you use it in another PC with Microsoft works on it.

You can try it,
Most new computers have this pre loaded and supply on disk too. I guess because most people delete the works 8 from the hard drive (I did) because it's rubbish.
I tyred to sell works8 on e-bay no offers not even 10p.
I could not give it way.

Of course you can but you would be better off chucking it away
and downloading Open Office for free than risk that more than one person tries to register with the same serial.

Once it has been installed and you have registered using the key code, it can be installed but you won't be able to register it again to use it.

Try it. If there are components that are installed in your machine to make it work only on that one then it won't.

I think the only thing stopping you from trying that out would be your morals. Try it, see what happens.
