I have 2 degenerated discs in my neck causing chronic pain. I am 28 years old. I have been to multiple doctors and neurosurgeons. My doctor says the 2 bad discs need removed and that 2 new ones need fused in. Sounds pretty scary. He says ther is a 65% chance it will make me feel better. Has anyone had this done or know anything about it? Please tell me about you or a friends experience. Thanks!

A person I work with had this done about 10 years ago - she is the same age as you. It got rid of nearly all the pain, but now the same problem is developing in the disc just below the fusion. She has lost some range of motion in her neck (slight limitation in her ability to bend her neck forward and backward). She is trying to decide what to do about the new problem and is leaning again toward surgery.
