Not so random -- egg whites are magical! There isn't much flavor to them, but some, and it changes according to whether it is cooked or not.

But, it can take on wonderful flavors! Cheese souffle -- or chocolate souffle. Chiffon cake. Coconut and chocolate chunk meringues. PAVLOVA!!!!

Personally, I think egg white can get a little funny with chocolate flavoring unless they are treated right. For example, a chocolate pudding (American style custard) doesn't taste right when it's made of egg whites only, and chocolate ice cream is also kind of nasty. However, it seems to work in meringues.

Does that help?

Yes... but it's hard to describe. It doesn't really taste like anything else. It has it's own unique taste and it's delicious! I love the white part of the eggs, especially with bacon for breakfast. Yummy!

there is a slight taste but it does need salt or some other flavour to try to bring it out ... i enjoy the texture more than the yolk (yuk) my ex used to eat the yolk only and i would only eat the white so we made the perfect pair haha

Not on my taste buds which is why I ignore all receipes calling for just the whites because without the yolk, all you have is....is...is...(give me a year and i might think of something).

They taste slightly salty - and eggy. Cannot describe. I don't like raw. Dangerous anyway.
