The Bible clearly says that good works won't get us into Heaven, it is only by our faith and a profession to Jesus Christ that can do this. For all have sinned and fall short of the Glory of God.

I help people all the time, but, I not have to brag about it. This "I'm a Catholic" or "I'm a Baptist" and "I'm the only one going to Heaven" is a bunch of Crap. If a person is a Child of God they need to read Luke 9:49-50 and ask; "Who was that man"? He was not a Catholic and he was not a Baptist, he most likely was a Child of God. I not even think weather I am Catholic or Protestant and not go to a Church. Just because of the Hypocrites. No wonder the unbelievers are justified in believing Christians are a bunch of Dumb Asses.

Protestants truly believe that good deeds are just as valuable as Catholics do. Anyone who tells you otherwise is in error.

Catholics don't believe that just being a Catholic will get us into heaven. Being Catholic is extremely hard with today's worldly views, but the difference is that Catholics believe it is through good works and faith while most Protestants state it is through faith alone that one can enter heaven.
This is because of Martin Leuther who changed that passage to faith alone. As it is, most Protestant religions use his version of the Bible and so they will say that it is faith that saves them, not good works and faith.
That isn't for all Protestant religions though...but as stated earlier, if you believe and follow Jesus Christ, good works comes easily because you want to.

Eph 2:8-9 says For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast. So if its not of works what good deed Will qualify? NONE. It is all the word of Jesus on the cross that gives salvation. God required a prefect sacrifice to cleanse us from our sins.

Good deeds are a product of the Faith. Grace is a gift from God.

Your premise is inaccurate.
Catholics belief that salvation comes from
1 Belief
2 Good works
3 Membership in the Roman Catholic Church
Protestants believe that salvation is the free gift of God, and it cannot be "earned" by good works.
However, Protestants also believe that good works are THE RESULT of salvation.

How do you know this? It says in the bible that faith without works is dead. We must all do good works. Good works alone will not get us into heaven. Salvation through Jesus Christ and adhering to Christs teachings will get us into heaven. If you adhere to Christ's teachings you will automatically want to do good works. We will be rewarded for our good works when we get to heaven but that will not get us into heaven.

CORRECTION:
Protestants DO believe there is great value in good deeds, ...its just that GOOD DEEDS by themeself will not bring salvation......only faith in what Christ didi on the cross can do that.
