The format for ur ext. hdd shud be fat 32 so first of all convert it using some software if its larger than 32 gb.Coz windows does not convert anythin bigger than 32 gb to fat 32 format...U can use partition magic...I tried it and I liked it...Or do one thing make two or more partitions in ur hdd and one shud b less than 32 gb then convert it to fat 32....I know my answer is weird but hope it helps...

Plug it in via USB mini-b connector.
