Take a bus until you satisfy the lefal requirements, you don't qualify for special dispensation to disregard the rules that are there for the safety of yourself and everybody else on the road. Sorry.
This is from the Texas Department of Public Safety.

1) What is an occupational license?
An occupational license is a special restricted license issued to persons whose license has been suspended or revoked for certain offenses (other than medical reasons or delinquent child support). An occupational license authorizes the operation of a non-commercial motor vehicle in connection with a person’s occupation, for educational purposes or in the performance of essential household duties. Requests for such licenses are made to the county or district court in the county of the licensee’s residence or to the court of original jurisdiction where the offense occurred. Texas Transportation Code Section 521.242, 37 Texas Administrative Code 15.7.

When I got my license at 15, I had to go before a judge (took me a month and a half to get the hearing) and then show proof as to why it is a necessity that I have my license. I still had to take the 6 month driving course, but the fact that my grandfather and father were not Licensed Drivers any longer was overlooked and they could still be my governing driver during the Permit phase.

The license could only be used for transporting myself to a location that was over 3 miles away with no other means of transportation (bus mostly) including public transportation. If a family member was in the car, it had to be either something medical, or necessity (clothing or grocery). You wouldn't be able to use it to drive to school as your mom wouldn't be able to get back home without you.

The reason the judge granted me this is because my father had Huntington's Disease and my grandfather has Congenital Heart Failure and Alzheimers. With my father in the clinical trial phase, he had to be at the doctors in a matter of minutes if anything happened. I was one of the few people that were allowed to sign herself out of school and have a pager on campus. I would have gladly given all that up to have a healthy father and grandfather though.

If you truely have enough of a situation at home to warrant this, then I wish you all the best.

When we tried to do that with my step daughter in TX, we were told that it's very hard to get a hardship license. You would have to be able to prove, beyond a shadow of a doubt, with official paperwork, that you NEED the license in order for your family to survive. The judge doesn't care if you have to take the bus to school.

I am afraid you will be riding the bus. you are going to have to wait the 6 months like everybody else. Remember, driving is a PRIVILEGE, not a right. you have to earn your drivers license

idk about texas, but in ohio, with a hardship licence, you cannot drive to school, cannot drive on the freeway, and can only have family members as passengers, and you cant drive more then like 10 or 15 miles form your house.

if you need to drive to school, get a moped licence, and fix up a moped so it can go faster
