I accept when one owns up to one's mistakes. I don't accept self-righteous false vindication by using the excuse that "it's in the bible" or "god doesn't make mistakes" etc.

I think it's like doctors who "practice medicine" . There is a right way, but they are always finding new technologies, new medicines, new procedures etc. Christians are not perfect and individually they practice "religion". Christians are not perfect, but are forgiven. I do believe that the religious leaders are more accountable to God for misleading any of Christ's sheep.

No, only Christians make mistakes, at least on this site, all others are perfect, read on and you will see. To most here, Bin Laden is a hero, while Christ is blood thirsty

There has only ever been ONE perfect Man.
And He got crucified for daring to try to show folks that God loves them, and that they also ought to love one another.
The best we can do is to try to follow Him as closely as we can...and when we stumble along the path (we WILL make mistakes, that's a given), we need to turn to Him to help us back to our feet, and for guidance to not trip over that particular stumbling block again.

First, however, we need to get over our own foolish pride...
