It cannot be earned.......
It is by faith & trust in Christ alone and what He did for us.....that's what saves us.
It's a free gift from God to all who say "yes" to Christ

Well, first of all, If we are already Christians then we do believe in Jesus and do believe that he is our personal Savior otherwise we wouldn't be Christians. Secondly, we don't have to "earn" anything from Jesus not even salvation. It is a gift. He already paid the price for us. He has earned our salvation for us. Our salvation is not earned by anything we do or say, however once we do receive Jesus as our Savior, our actions should automatically begin to change because we love him-- not because we want to earn anything in return.

Salvation is not earned it is "received" by faith. It is a free gift that God offers to all.
There is a group of Christians that do not believe that their faith is enough and they try to earn their way into Heaven by doing good works and participating in Church Sacraments. This is a false doctrine and it is taking the credit away from Christ and giving it to themselves. Good works are a result of our salvation, not at condition.
Eph 2:8 God saved you by his special favour when you believed. And you can't take credit for this; it is a gift from God. Salvation is not a reward for the good things we have done, so none of us can boast about it. For we are God's masterpiece. He has created us anew in Christ Jesus, so that we can do the good things he planned for us long ago.

Profession of belief in Jesus is not earning your salvation. The bible says we are to confess Jesus is Lord of our life.

We are freely given the gift of salvation through Jesus Christ. No one can "earn" their salvation. We make a conscience decision to believe in Jesus and to choose to have him be our personal savior.
Man is saved by undeserved mercy (grace) through faith and nothing of man enters into his salvation. It is a free gift. Man's efforts, regardless of how good or well intended, before or after salvation, have nothing to do with it. Salvation is by the finished work of Christ and nothing can be added to it.

The only way to Heaven is through accepting Jesus as our Lord and Savior. John 3:16 i could quote it for you but I think perhaps you ought to read it yourself and perhaps read some more. It is a very good book!

"Earned" is a curious way to describe a decision.
Salvation cannot be earned, it is the free gift of God.
Ephesians 2:8
"For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:"

primoa is right... you dont "earn" salvation... it is given to you by your trust in the LORD.... thats all ya gotta do... trust in JESUS and confess youre a sinner in need of a savior... its that easy... of course, that is only the first step... you have to continue in your faith after you are saved, and be a representative of CHRIST.
