Oh, well if you were running late, then you were allowed to speed. You should have just told the officer and he would have given you a police escort at an even faster speed! LOLOL!!

Right, not wanting to pay a higher insurance rate is a pretty poor excuse to use when fighting a speeding ticket. Not having other traffic is a pretty poor excuse, as is running late for school. The only good excuse for speeding would have been rushing to the hospital with your mother in the back seat with a gunshot wound to the neck! You have no grounds to fight the ticket, you were speeding!

Absolutely fight it as the worst case scenario is that you get what you would have gotten anyway.
1. Gather evidence. Ask the traffic court to see official documents, like calibration records for either the radar gun or the speedometer used to clock your car.
2. Ask for proof of proper LIDAR (Light Detecting and Ranging) positioning, if that applies to their speed-measuring devices. If an officer fails to give sufficient proof of proper LIDAR positioning, than their evidence of speed is negated and you can win your case.
3. Go for technicalities. If certain elements on a ticket are missing or illegible (like the officer's signature or badge number), the ticket may be dismissed.
4. Be brief in court-make a two minute summary with visual aids if possible, such as a photo of the scene of the ticket with filled with cars, arguing that it wasn't necessarily your car that was clocked.
5. Maybe you will win by default. If the officer doesn't show up and the court asks for a continuance or delay, then your response should be "I object." The case should be dismissed if the officer doesn't have a good reason to be absent from the court.

Good luck.

You will save money by just paying the ticket. I don't see any way your reason for speeding would get you out of the ticket. You would also pay court costs in addition to the fine. Points would still be on your license.

You can fight it, but if the police officer shows up to the hearing, you will lose. Go to the police station which the ticket was issued by and ask them THEIR procedure.

Your excuse for speeding won't hold up in court. Good luck.

How is it that you think you will be able to fight this ticket? Do you have evidence that you weren't speeding, rather than a poor excuse on why you were speeding?

GO TO COURT AND ASK THE JUDGE IF YOU WILL BE ABLE TO TAKE DEFENSIVE DRIVING.

YOU WILL STILL PAY A FINE BUT THE INSURANCE WILL NEVER KNOW ABOUT IT AND IF YOU KEEP CLEAN THE TICKET WILL NEVER APPEAR AGAIN.
