Is she a German citizen or merely from Germany? What skills does she have? Where will you be? Just as a stab does the German department at your college have any needs she can fill?

All American companies need to look for domestic workers first. If they cannot find a suitable candiates for certain period of time, they can find worker outside USA. Therefore, majorities of legal immigrant workers are having high degree, such as Ph.D in science area, or they are working as nurses. What is your girl friend's specialty? If she only can do what average joe can do, no company can sponsor her for working visas.

No idea? First, she must consider her level of eduation and qualifications, and the type of work for which she is suited. Then send a resume, transcript, recommendations to companies that need workers with her qualifications.
