All you need is a B.S. degree in either computer science, or electrical engineering. In most cases, there is no license requirement, because you will be working in a large organization rather than working independently. If you like computers, it can be a great life. The pay is good.

Computer engineers need to be fluent in mathematics and technology. Ideally, they would have an interest in electronics.
In high school a future computer engineer would be taking all the algebra, trigonometry and calculus classes they could. Along with any programming or electronics classes that the school system would offer. In College the future computer engineer would probably major in Electrical Engineering. Computer engineering is a concentration within this major. A computer engineer does not need a license to work in the field, but the computer engineer can get a professional engineering license from the US state(s) that he/she would want to work in.
