Your family has a lot of money. But then again, compared to people in many parts of the world most of us do.

Just remember that you are not better than anyone because your parents have money. I'm not saying you feel like that, but I work at a school that has a lot of kids with similar backgrounds financially to what you described. Many of them think that they are better than others because of money.

Realize that your parents' money may give you opportunities that other will never have. Don't look down on people who aren't as wealthy as your family,

Like I said, I don't mean to say that you are like this but this is something that I think is tempting for people you come from backgrounds like you do so be careful not to let it make you have a big head. :)

You are not rich, your parents may be. All the things you mention are just things they are not an indication of wealth or happiness. The lesson of Katrina is that everything material can be lost in the blink of an eye and what is important is who you are as a human being and the relationships around you. Money means nothing if you are not a good person with a good heart. Work on that and don't worry about what you have and where you live.

I know many people who live a similar lifestyle and are not rich--they are simply VERY DEEP in debt. You DON’T know that your parents are not in debt, because I’m sure they don't discuss their finances with you.

At any rate, as you said, this is your parents money/their assets, not yours. If you want to help others, do some volunteer work. Organizations never have enough volunteers.

EDITED TO ADD THIS AFTER YOU ADDED ADDITIONAL DETAILS:
“Common people”?
Girlie, I feel very sorry for you, because you are obviously a spoiled brat with an incredible sense of superiority that is completely unfounded--no matter how much money your parents may or may not have.
I suggest you take your $3000 and donate it instead of blowing it on a shopping spree.

Geez!

Your family is blessed with material things. The only real treasures we have are those we store in heaven. And those treasures come from the heart & soul and can't be lost, stolen or bought. You are worthy of the blessings given you, it is what you do with those blessings that count. Share your time & money for those less fortunate, love people and God by your actions. Be a blessing to others. All things material can be gone in a blink of an eye, treasure people in your life more, they too can be gone as fast--work on the heart treasure of giving- that can never be lost.

Unless all those cars and houses are all paid off in full... your parents are in debt up to their eyeballs! It's a good thing they make 6 figures to afford you your lifestyle.

All you need to concentrate on is being rich in character and not becoming a spoiled snob when you get older and consider yourself blessed

Why do you care?

I recommend you go do some volunteering work and look after people who don't have it as fortunate as you.

To answer your question, "no" you aren't "rich".

You don't sound like you're living a good life but more a guilty one of no satisfaction.

Go see the world and share your life and you won't care how "rich" you are anymore.

You are not rich as far as the money goes, your parents may well be.

Here is my opinion on things: Money does not make you wealthy. The family and friends that you have in your life does.

It depends on definition of rich.Forbes magazine defines rich as having incomes of at least 1 million per year.
US and most international banks view those with net worth of ten million or more as private clients,or basically 'rich people' customers.

Ask your parents. And talk to them about how you feel about poor people. parents aren;t as dumb as they seem, they will probably have some good advice.

No, you are not rich. Your parents are rich.

It is very good that feel unworthy. That is because it will make you work hard to accomplish something.
What you described here are your parents accomplishments, not yours.

Work hard so you can accomplish just as much and more.

Good Luck.

Material things do not make us rich. It's our souls, our minds, our gratefulness of being alive that makes us rich. Do you have alot of stuff....sure...but how rich does it make you feel inside. Flip your parents a big fish on the beemers though. I am sure they get much satisfaction from them.

LMAO.......'I know my parents arent in debt or we would be selling our beach house asap.....HAHAHAHAHAHAHA...wow, what a sacrifice!!!!
