Definitely. For 15 years I was in a church that had a lot of backstabbing and manoeuvring for position. A lot of pointless committees and subcommittees. One of the best examples was the curtain hanging subcommittee who were to decide where a donated backdrop curtain was to be hung.

The structure of religion definitely mirrors government.

Religion is merely man made rules and regulations on how to worship God. That is why I am a non denominational born again Christian. A Christian is someone who accepts Jesus into their heart, confesses their sin and abides by Jesus' teachings and commandments. Freedom from religion and it's "power and politics" is truly freedom in Christ.

No.
It is good to get in the habit of doing things: Taking a bath, brushing your teeth every morning, or whatever.
The same thing goes for Christianity:You should be in the habit of praying, worshipping etc., and "religion" as you call it can provide that structure.
St Paul said "Do not forsake the assembly".
And, as a Catholic, I could not receive the Eucharist - the Body, Blood, Soul, and Divinity of Christ - if I did not go to Church.
Remember: Christ established a CHURCH on earth, and chose apostles to teach and baptise. He didn't just say "go be spiritual and do your own thing."

it particularly is an quite primary assertion approximately Christians. extra people have died under atheist banners in the final couple of centuries or so then in the previous 2000 years under non secular banners. anybody thinks that what they have faith is reality (in any different case they might not have faith it;)). The default place of it is that people who disagree or contradict are incorrect. it is effortless to all perception structures. inspite of how some have practiced their faith, Christians are advised to love one yet another - even their enemies. it particularly is not the Bible's fault that some so-suggested as Christians go with to forget approximately approximately or cherry %. scriptures. there is not any Biblical justification for hate. Christians of course have faith that Christianity comes from God. The reported objective of Christianity is to reconcile humanity to God by way of faith in, and submission to Christ.

It shouldn't be, but often is. I think the more we change religion from being a corporate experience to being a private and personal one, the more we could avoid this.
