Too bad frozen didn't work for you. I've had good luck with them. You might want to try different brands that might have better freezing technology because frozen, aside from being cheaper and easier to get all year long, are nearly as good for you nutritionally as fresh. In lieu of that not working for you, then I think your next option is to go for canned or dried fruits, either of which might suit your taste and be easy to find all year, but will not have quite the same nutrutional punch as fresh or frozen without added sugars and such. If you are really feeling motivated to get some good fruit for your yogurt, and you have the time and space for it, you could try growing, say, strawberries indoors and then you could have fresh fruit all year round. Just make sure you grown an ever-fruiting variety.

I know this may be as expensive as fresh fruit but I have found that there is no substitute besides the juice of that same fruit. I love pomegranites but they are so rarely sold that I have to buy the juice. You might also have to find something that is always in stock, cheaper, and that you really like--
I hope this helps.

You could try fruit juice on the side. And while I normally am not a fan of canned foods, even some canned fruits are good- if you don't get the kind in heavy syrup.

i use what's in season. maybe dice apples or pears, peaches.
if you get frozen berries try to soak them for a few hours in a sugar water solution to sweeten them up.
i also fresh freeze berries when in season to use the rest of the year.

Peaches are good right now. Apples will be great rhoughout the fall. Try chunks of canned pineapple, drained of their juice. I also like sweet canned cherries (not the kind you make pie from, the dark eating kind). I also like dried cranberries or dried blueberries.

sparkling fruit could desire to be effective. What I often do is sprinkle a splash brown sugar blended with white sugar and honey on the fruit and freeze. often whilst it thaws, its lots juicier and sweeter. in case you do not have time to freeze them then only use them freshly tossed.

Hello:
I would say either canned fruit or frozen fruit would be an alternative to fresh fruit! ;-)
