Fight with each other over who's a true christian.

They would do what they have done in the past, and continue to do today: Groups will "splinter-off" and form separate congregations who want to interpret the Word differently, or practice the Precepts of the Bible as they see fit, - perhaps more strictly, or a adopt a less rigid interpretation of the Bible.

Some want to combine The Garden of Eden with the Big Bang. Some want to Speak in Tongues and handle Serpents, while others want to Play Rock & Roll during the Worship Service and focus on Youth Pograms.

And while they don't take up arms against one another as some of the Muslin factions in the Mid-East are wont to do, our Passive Christians choose to fued amongst themselves, and proclaim that their parishoners are the "chosen ones".

Seems that there is just something about organized religion, which turns even the meek into zealots. First it's flowers in their hair and "I love you Man", and before you know it, It's "Here have some Kool-Aid". Down thru the Ages, some of the Bloddiest and most brutal wars have been fought in the name of religion, ("The Church").

Seems "The Lamb of God" gets a little cranky every so often.

Its not so much that people challenge their beliefs. Christians and those who believe in the tooth fairy are free to believe whatever they want. What gets them into trouble is when they make absurd, obscene statements that impugn the decency of anyone not of their sect.

When the view they attacked is defended, they claim their beliefs are being challenged and scream foul.

Odd, isn't it, how the words Foul and Christan seem to go together.

back in the day when there weren't too many atheists around the christians used to torture, burn, and oppress other religions: the muslims, the jews, the hindus - whatever they could find.

when things got really tough they would even turn on other christians: the lutherans murdered the presbyterians, the baptists cursed the methodists, the utraquists drove the taborites into exile.

the catholics even invented a thing called the inquisition so they could kill other catholics.

it's what religion is about: hating people.

Then we would have peace & love here, less bashing & hatred. I would still answer questions for those who were here, but probably wouldn't need to spend as much time here. I'd be over in the Pets or Zoology forums more often. But as it is, I feel very fulfilled defending God & Christianity and helping those who ask for it in the R&S forum. Have a good day!

Lol once again someone refers a statement to the entire christain group. By the way we aren't all like that that we fight it out. If there was no one to question my beliefs than it would probably be like it is now. Because if someone doesn't believe in god i don't say "BURN IN HELL" i just take that as their religious or non religious want. I can careless if your an atheist, christain, or anything else if you dislike my beliefs i won't argue because everyone is entitled to an opinion. It would be a different story if you started burning crosses or jesus statues on my lawn.

Why are Christians the target of these antagonistic posts? I don't care what you say, I have been watching the questions here for quite a long time, and at least over 90% of anti-rligious questions are aimed at Christians. Why is that? If you think that God is a fairy tale and religion is bad, then why don't you include Jews, Muslims, or Hindus in this question? Well, I know one big reason why: Because Institutions of Higher Learning (what a joke!) have systematically attacked Christianity and indoctrinated their minds-full-of-mush students into believing this garbage. Most of you attackers come out of a post-christian cultural situation in which blaming Christiasnity for everything is acceptable and politically correct. In fact, bigotry against Christians (and especially Catholic Christians) is one of the last acceptable prejudices in America. Insult a homosexual or a Muslim, and you've commited a hate crime. Insult a Christian and you're a hero at UC Berkeley. These attacks are better proof than anything else I kinow of that Christanity is the true religion. Why else would the world attack it so hard?

Could say the same about Muslims, Hindus etc etc. Everyone has a right to believe in whatever religion they like. Why do people poke their nose in and challenge them? Every single religion in the land could be challenged if people feel the need to do it.

God put non believers here to challenge our belief, it says so in the Bible, not in those exact words, but we will be tempted til the day we die. Thank you for letting us profess out here, it's these kind of questions that keep us going!!!
