This happened on yesterday. Legal and illegal immigrants alike say they are sick of the treatment they receive here.

I suggest they go back to where they came from, come back LEGALLY, and maybe they will be treated better.

What say you?

I say immigration is great and I support it 100% and actually believe they should make it slightly easier to get into this country for thoughts who would ultimately obtain citizenship. The one thing I do not support at all is illegal immigration. There is a process millions have followed it. What gives them the right to ignore it. I even believe that if both parents of a child are illegal immigrants than the child is not a citizen even if they were born in this country and the whole family should be deported. But that's just my opinion. What do I know my family just had to fight for the right to get here while millions of other ominous potato farmer were starving all around them. (The great potato famine was what brought them here.) So to conclude I think people as many people as possible in troubling situations would be helped.

1) Illegal Aliens are NOT Immigrants.
2) Illegal Aliens have no Constitutional Rights as does a Legal US Citizen.
3) End ALL Entitlement Programs and watch the Illegal Aliens deport themselves.
4) Do away with Sanctuary Cities.

These rallies and boycotts are only causing more frustration at the situation and more demand by the citizens that something be done, I really do not understand the organizers of these things.

The boycott of the shopping malls in Prince William, VA were a disaster, they threatened to show how powerful their buying force was by NOT buying so the support of citizens AND their purses and wallets flowed in from not only the rest of the state but many of the surrounding states as well.

Like Amanda H above pointed out I think these things hurt their cause more than help.

Is that it? Just 3,000? In Los Angeles? I guess the issue has pretty much fizzled out, even in the hispanic community. This year there were between 5,000 and 6,000 hispanics that gathered for a rally in Dallas (Just Dallas not Fort Worth), down from 500,000 a year ago. Since the elections are over and the Republlican party has pretty much destroyed itself, they see no reason to trade amnesty for the hispanic vote. Republicans are lucky to have the podunk vote at this point.

Before you get your hopes up too high... go to ICE's webpage. They may round up dozens, or 100's at a time. But only a very few are deported, while the rest are set free again inside OUR borders. And they call that progress under Michael Chertoff, and DHS. I say it's still a waste of tax payer money if they aren't deported, and made to come back legally.

If Americans ever succeed in getting rid of illegal immigrants – deporting those who are already here and preventing the entry of others – there will be an outcry from Latino activists, civil libertarians and the business community.

In the short term illegal immigrants pay into the Social Security system which is almost bankrupt.

They also provide recruits for the military.

But not all of them pay taxes.

In the long term Amnesty Will Cost U.S. Taxpayers at Least $2.6 Trillion.

Tancredo, Ron Paul, and Hunter have the most conservative voting records on immigration.

http://www.betterimmigration.com/candidates/2006/prez08_gop1.html

Of these three, Ron Paul has the best chance of winning the Primary election.
Paul's campaign has almost 4 times as much money to spend as Tancredo.

Ron Paul has stated that he wants very strong borders and he was appalled that our government had taken border guards off of our borders to send them to Iraq.
http://www.lewrockwell.com/orig8/haman3.html

This is his six point plan:
Physically secure our borders and coastlines. We must do whatever it takes to control entry into our country before we undertake complicated immigration reform proposals.
Enforce visa rules. Immigration officials must track visa holders and deport anyone who overstays their visa or otherwise violates U.S. law. This is especially important when we recall that a number of 9/11 terrorists had expired visas.
No amnesty. Estimates suggest that 10 to 20 million people are in our country illegally. That’s a lot of people to reward for breaking our laws.
No welfare for illegal aliens. Americans have welcomed immigrants who seek opportunity, work hard, and play by the rules. But taxpayers should not pay for illegal immigrants who use hospitals, clinics, schools, roads, and social services.
End birthright citizenship. As long as illegal immigrants know their children born here will be citizens, the incentive to enter the U.S. illegally will remain strong.
Pass true immigration reform. The current system is incoherent and unfair. But current reform proposals would allow up to 60 million more immigrants into our country, according to the Heritage Foundation. This is insanity. Legal immigrants from all countries should face the same rules and waiting periods.

Boo Hoo, cry me a river! I say ALL Legal Citizens ought to start boycottiing the Companies that blatantly HIRE Illegals. Hit 'em where it hurts... the pocketbook! We can start with Miller Brewing Company, Koch food, Smithfield Packing. Bank of America who gives them credit cards.

Go to:http://www.wehirealiens.com/
Look up who hires illegals in YOUR area.

Or here to see what's being boycotted:

Lets face it as long as we look the other way, Corporations are going to continue. Now is the time to take a stand and tell them WE'RE NOT GOING TO TAKE IT ANYMORE!

I'd say these demonstrations are a perfect example of the attitude of entitlement illegal aliens have.
They obviously believe they are entitled to a better life at the expense of the American taxpayer.
Their actions speak louder to their mindset than their words ever could rather than acknowledging the fact that they are foreign nationals they loudly proclaim that they have the same rights as the American citizen even though they have no right to be here.
I suppose they believe this kind of behavior will endear them to the American citizen- I believe they might be delusional.

Deport them all- no one needs such a disrespectful population

In force? Are you sure? I didn't see anything about numbers in a quick scan of your link, and yesterday I did see something that said 'dozens' protested in LA. I didn't really consider that to be 'in force' but I don't know what happened elsewhere.
-
OK, this says 300 in LA (must have been later than what I saw yesterday) http://cbs2.com/local/local_story_256002940.html

Separately, I saw 150 in DC and 50 in each of Chicago and San Jose.

I guess I still don't see 'out in force.'
-
Hmm, this one still says 'several dozen'.
