gatita has all the right scriptures there for you. i have been sitting here trying to find the best way to answer your question. i am apostolic pentecostal and was not raised this way- far from it. though i have been in church now for several years. if you see it in the scriptures (you can refer to the ones gatita has) and still have questions about it, then i would pray if i were you and ask God to lead you in the way you are to look on the outside. true God cares about what is on the inside but he also cares about what we look like on the outside or he wouldn't have included those specific instructions in the Bible. By the same token it should not only be done out of obedience, but also because it is in your heart to do so. The bible also says that you are to be seperate from the world, and looking differently is a great way to do this and be a witness. My husband and i get stopped all of the time by people wanting to know where we go to church. (because i wear longer skirts and have long hair- that i usually wear up). you would probably never walk up to just anyone and say "hey where do you go to church" because you can't tell by looking at most people that they are Christains. they look just like everyone else. looking at it like "i don't want to grow my hair out and I don't want to wear skirts" may not be the best way to look at it. instead maybe you should look at it like, "I will study it out in my Bible, pray that God will speak to my heart about it, and I will do whatever he leads me to do." If you want to dedicate your life to God to the greatest extent "giving up" those things shouldn't matter to you. what should matter is pleasing God no matter what. I totally see where you are coming from as I have not always been in church. To me the hardest part was thinking what will my family, friends and people at work think of me? but it didn't matter, because all I cared about was doing my best to live the life God wanted me to live. I had to go to my boss at a vet clinic and tell them i did not want to wear the scrub pants anymore that we wore as part of our uniform. I was a just a "baby" at that time and I couldn't really do a good job explaining why, but i knew it was right. Don't let this question- or problem you have keep you from the apostolic church. I know my church welcomes you no matter how you dress or wear your hair. Now that you have the Holy Ghost dwelling inside you if you are open to the word and God he will lead you. So glad you recieved the Holy Ghost- Sister.

I am a member. One, there is nothing in our doctrine or faith that even hints towards Apostolic Christians being the only church going to heaven, or saved. Being part of a Body or Church does not in anyway qualify a person for heaven or somehow save them. It is only a Help that the Lord saw fit to instate "bodies of belivers" or groups of people that can help each other and keep each other accountable. Members of the ACCA, if not diligent and sincere and humbly relying on God s grace each day, can fall away and be lost to like anyone else. There is only one WAY to heaven not one Church. We do not believe that at all. And I am sorry you have received that impression may the Lord give you understanding and a forgiving heart. Two: There is no biblical reason we do not have facial hair. Furthermore we do not see it as a sin or wrong if people from other churches do. The only reason we abstain from that is because we practice a Holy greeting that the Apostles taught and the Early Christians practiced (2 Corinthians 13:12, 1 Thessalonians 5:26, 1 Corinthians 16:20). And it is a tradition that seems good, not doctine. Three. Jesus Preached In John 3:3-7 That man must be born again. And in Luke 13:3 & Matt 13:2 that we must repent. This is the only way to get to heaven, not what church or any other status in life. I hope this clears up any confusion. May God help the lost to be found before he returns, and all believers to be faithful until then.

No, you're not sinning.
You are attending a church that is rather controlling of women and has a bit of anti-female philosophy worked into their theology. There are other Christian churches in which you can dedicate your life to God to the greatest extent without having to be treated like a second-class human.
Just so you know.

When each of us becomes a Christian we don't enter a set of rules, we enter a new life with Jesus' Holy Spirit within us to guide us. Start listening to Him.....he never contradicts what is written in the Bible and He will lead you on.
Being a Christian is not about outward things, though we are called to dress in a modest way that will not encourage others to sin.

Not wearing make-up and pants and growing out your hair are rules that have been made up by denominations. I don't believe any of that has anything to do with your relationship with the Lord. Don't sweat those issues... just keep following Him and when you do you will find that you will mature in Christ. He may prompt you to give up certain things or change things that you once may have liked before you came into a relationship with Him. You may also find yourself making those choices on your own and making choices that glorify Him in a greater way.

I am wondering if this church you have joined is a oneness apostolic church? anyway the make up, pants, no TV, and hair thing is not scriptural...you have gotten mixed up with a legalistic church that will bring you into bondage to law keeping as a means to become righteous. Get out as soon as possible...find yourself a good assemblies of GOD church somewhere so you don't have to live in condemnation the rest of your life...~GOD BLESS YOU AND LEAD YOU INTO ALL TRUTH~

Those are things only God can answer for you!! If He wants you to change something He will put it in your heart and you will want to change these things. When He came into my heart and lifted me out of my own made hell He put it on my heart to only wear dresses but I wear make up and I get my hair cut those things in my opnion are a matter of personal conviction. Something between YOU and God alone.

There is no scriptural evidence to say that someone who wears pants or has short hair is sinning, at least in that capacity. I can't really account for the source of such falsehood being propagated by men who purport to be men of God, but the fact remains that one's salvation is not contingent on dress code.

Christianity is all about our relationship with Jesus. That's it. Whatever fellowship you choose to go to should be all about you and Jesus. Outward appearance is not an issue. If it is, then I would highly suggest you find a fellowship that is more like Jesus and less like the Pharisee's.
Welcome aboard Sis!
May the Lord richly bless you.

Nope, as long as your appearane is modest. Mary Tyler Moore wore pants on the Dick Van Dyke show, and she didn't look sinful to me.
