The monkey wasn't ill-suited for life, so why would he become extinct just because one branch of his tree progressed further?
I'm not not a huge macro-evolution fan, but I don't think that this argument holds water.
But, I think it's cool that you have your own personal monkey. Does he wear diapers and cute little outfits?

What book on evolution were you reading ? man did not evolve from a monkey... you're thinking of apes... not the same thing.

Think of a tree. A tree has a trunk, and it has limbs right?
The monkey, the ape and ourselves all share a common ancestor. That ancestor is kind of like the trunk of the tree of primates. We are all the different branches on the tree, we don't come directly from the monkey branch, we both came from the ancestor trunk.

Your right, according to evolution the entire species has to evolve to fit the genetic requirements of the species, your monkey is proof that evolution is just a theory.
