Yes, but only if you have greatly limited the number and size of newer files saved on the system. What happens is, when you delete a file...even from Recycle Bin...by mistake, the file isn't quite lost forever yet. This is cos the sectors of the hard drive that were occupied by the deleted item still contain the delete item only this time the computer has marked (so to say) that/those sectors as being "available" for any new file that is to be saved to the hard drive. You can look at it this way:

Landlord (harddrive/user): Hey tenant, your rent is up, pack your things and get ready to move out as soon as the new tenant is ready to move in.

Old tenant: Ok thanks, I'll move out the instant the new tenant is to move in.

When you save anything new to the disk, and more sectors are needed, all the ones marked as having deleted items will be overwritten...thats when it becomes too late to save your lost data. When the new tenant comes in, the old tenant has to move out for good whether he/she likes it or not.

as everyone has said..check the recycle bin...
But if for some reason you have emptied your bin then follow these easy steps..
click on start
click on search
click on either, 'picture music or video'
or 'all files and folders'
then type in the name of the deleted file and click on search.
Hey presto....the file should appear on the screen.
then 'drag and drop' or copy and paste the file into a new folder and go from there.
Remember...your hard drive never actually deletes any files permanently.(unless you get a 'shredding' programme' installed). you should always be able to recover any file that has been accidentally deleted.
good look with that.

yes you can restore deleted files, even files removed from the recycle bin. when you delete a file, it is not completely erased from the hard disk. what happens is that, only the link that points to the file is removed by Windows. the file is still in the hard disk somewhere, as long as the sector in the hard disk is not going to be used up by another file, it will remain there. you just need the appropriate program to restore it. you can download a free restore program from http://www.softpedia.com/progDownload/Restoration-Download-19260.html
the program is called RESTORATION. its very easy to use and quite efficient.

If you get hold of a program called 'Recover My Files'. It's basically the same thing as Police use to see what files used to be on your computer. Beware though, its is a lengthy process and can take days to complete a scan. Once that is done, you still have to spend time trawling through the files to find what you want.

Go to your recycle bin and reactivate the files (recycle bin is on your desktop)

certainly, even formated data recovery of formatted hard disk is possible. The best suggestion for you to goto www.sourceforge.net and search for windows data recovery and see which project has more stars and downloads. just try that out, I have personally used many applications and found most of the time succeeded.
