Probably not. If the can is dented, maybe the coating on the inside is broken or flawed allowing the soup inside to come into contact with bare metal and a chemical reaction could occur that may not be good for you.

I worked for the American Can Company for five years. All cans that hold food or beverage must have a plastic or lacquer coating inside such that the food or beverage cannot come in contact with metal.
A dent can always carry some risk that the contents come in contact with metal and thus carry some degree of risk. I will never accept a dented can......never

I've eaten out of dented cans plenty in my life, that part doesn't scare me, but what is this about rust? I would throw the can away and have something else for lunch.

Dented but not swollen would be okay;the rust on the bottom says throw it out.

If it's rusted near the dent, NO WAY! Pitch it and run! too big of a risk of botulism. And if the dent is on a seam, NO WAY!

I wouldn't... Food poisoning is just not worth it for the price of a can of soup!

If you are asking this question then you should just probably chuck it out. Go with your instinct.
