Nobody can prove any gods, much less a specific god, exist. People believe in specific gods because of indoctrination from an early age, tradition, hallucinations, fear of torture (for gods sadistic enough to threaten it) and other similarly illogical reasons. But no gods exist in reality; these are all stories, created for people who were scared of the world long before we understood it. Now we have no more reason for these superstitions.

Let's make a deal: You promise me that nobody ever gets hurt by your religion again, and I'll never discuss it again.
In the meantime, more americans are killed every year by christian opposition to medical progress than by terrorists.
Read Letter to a Christian Nation if you want to understand how harmful your religion is.

What makes you think that christianity is worthy of ANY respect? What has changed in the past few decades is 'awareness'. ALL religion is delusion... the ILLUSION of knowledge. But Christianity is much, much more than that... it is a complete fraud... a criminal business enterprise that is directly responsible for the deaths of hundreds of millions of people... the world's longest running and most successful Multi-Level Marketing (MLM) scam. The product they are selling is the ILLUSION of 'salvation', and the PROMISE of eternal life... and the 'pay plan' doesn't kick in until after you're dead, and there's nobody there with whom you can register your complaint about having been scammed... which doesn't really matter, anyway... because you're DEAD... and you CAN'T complain... because you don't even KNOW you're dead... you're just DEAD.
Meanwhile the VICTIMS (having been deceived into believing that it is their God-given duty) are out there busily recruiting MORE victims. What a racket! Proselytizing (spreading the 'good news')... the 'Divine Commission'... is a key element of the Christian MLM MARKETING PLAN, which was instituted after Christianity LOST the political power that had previously allowed them to simply torture and kill anybody who did not submit. If you stop to think about it, you will realize that Christians are very much like the Borg, on Star Trek Next Generation: "You will be assimilated. Resistance is futile." I would not be surprised to learn that thoughts of Christianity provided the 'creative spark' for the Borg concept. It is most certainly the source of George Orwell's inspiration for 'doublethink'.
This is a good news/bad news sort of thing. The GOOD news is that these Christian mind-control tecniques... perfected and refined over the past 1,700 years... only work on people who do not have the critical-thinking skills and reasoning power to penetrate the logical fallacies, lies, misrepresentations and deceit upon which this fraud is constructed. The BAD news (and it's REALLY bad news) is that this accounts for 85%+ of the adult population of the USA.
Oh, crap... we're doomed.

why do christians think people pick on them?? "we" are having increasing negative remarks directed towards religion in general, not just christians.. tell me what does religion give you, the word or love of God? i'm sure you can get it without having religion.. science has helped out a lot more than religion ever has, it processes your food, makes the plastics that protect your foods and holds your drinks, it saves your life in the operating room.. i tell you, quit using science to "let" you survive, pray to God for food and drink and medical treatment and see how long you live. have a great day.

The fundamentalists are what have happened, I'm afraid. The true Christian message that Jesus gave us, love one another, has been supplanted by a pseudoChristian message of "Join my church and believe exactly like I do or you're going to burn in hell forever and we'll all say 'Ha, ha!'"
Even semi-intelligent people know that fundamentalism is phony and comical. What isn't comical is how the majority of Americans associate the pseudoChristianity of fundamentalism with the real thing.

If someone does not show any respect for anyone else, why would that person expect respect from others?
Christianity does not respect other religions and consequently get little respect as well. This argument could probably be applied to more than one religion.

personally speaking, I find Christians annoying more now that before because my only contact with them (I'm not Christian myself) is when they come round knocking on doors and trying to persuade me to become one.
They are so rude! I tell them I am busy (genuinely!) or just not interested and then they won't go and start implying I'm a horrible person.
obviously I KNOW that not all Christians are like this, but the few that are, are definitely giving you all a bad press!

I believe that as a species we are waking from the darkness of religion, into the light of spirituality. Humanity is coming of age. People are looking at religious beliefs and realising that they are flawed at best. Hopefully we are entering the age of reason, where men/women of good will, can live in peace with each other and with God no matter how they see Him/Her.

Christians are still the majority in the US and a vocal one at that. They run the governments, make the laws, and controll information. I don't understand why christians still feel like martyrs. How can the majority be persecuted?

With increasing freedoms, Christians have been less successful at stamping out dissent. In the good old days Christians could burn people at the stake. Today this is frowned upon.

The Christian way of life is interfereing with everthing that is truthful,as all of you deny that it is you that are the gods you seek,so you should be able to answer your own questions.
That is one of the main reasons why you are getting negative feed-back.
Are you all that dumb that you can't see past your noses ??

I don't believe they're increasing.
My thought is the attack questions and various forms of ridicule and hectoring from all quarters on all faiths is actually decreasing.
