neither - to each their own . But nowadays this is more of an expression that one utters rather than mean it.

Neither...but the temptation to do so is there. I believe God has given everyone the gift of free choice. It could be that their choice(s) made something good happen to themselves which would take away a little credit for being human. Humanity isn't all that bad I feel. But on the other side of the coin I do believe in Divine Intervention but I feel a person knows instinctively when God has intervened.

Well for the most part people say this in a casual way which means nothing.
When people do seem to mean it, I get irritated that they attribute to 'god' the ordinary unfolding of events. If a kid dropped from an aeroplane, narrowly missed power lines on the way down and landed safely inside a dumpster filled with mattresses, then I might understand 'thank god', but not just because a kid runs across a street and a watchful driver slows down.

I look up , there is nothing wrong with Thanking God when something good happens ! It means respect for him , and when someone says this for a reason you can bet they really mean it , they are really thanking him even if they dont know it .

I don't really care because I say "oh thank god" if something bad doesn't happen even though I completely oppose religion. It's just the mindset of society.

I look down on them unless they also blame god when something bad happens to them.

Neither, nowdays its just a form of expression, part of a cultural speech. I say it and don't believe in it, but everyone around me says it, so I'll be traditionally inclined to say it even though I don't mean it, its just part of our culture.

no, most of the time it is taken as an expression, like when someone does something stupid people roll their eyes and say jesus.. there's too much to do in life to care that much about what someone says. my opinion.
