Jesus is the Rock of ages and upon Jesus the Rock His church is built. It is the gospel of Jesus Christ and not any other person. From Genesis to Revelation it is all about Jesus the Christ.
How can the churches be built upon Peter who denied Jesus three times and the Lord forgave Peter three times? The Peter who cut off an ear. The Peter who Jesus said was acting like Satan. Does anybody read the Bible? Peter was never the Rock. All the way through the Bible God is the Rock. The Rock that brought forth living water. Peter's name means stone or pebble or rock, but the Rock is Christ and it is Christ's church and not Peter's church. The apostles and prophets are the foundation stone with Christ Jesus the cornerstone. 1 Peter 2:4-8 "To whom coming, as unto a living stone, disallowed indeed of men, but chosen of God, and precious, Ye also, as lively stones, are built up a spiritual house, a holy priesthood, to offer up spiritual sacrifices, acceptable to God by Jesus Christ. Wherefore also it is contained in Scripture, Behold, I lay in Zion a Chief Corner Stone, elect, precious: and he that believeth on Him shall not be confounded (put to shame). Unto you therefore which believe He is precious: but unto them which be disobedient, the stone which the builders disallowed, the same is made the Head of the corner, And a stone of stumbling, and a Rock of Offense, even to them which stumble at the word, being disobedient: whereunto also they were appointed.

1521, Martin Luther started the Lutherans when he broke away from the one true Church that had already existed for 15 centuries. Prior to this time, the false doctrine of "Sola Scriptura", or "Bible only", had not existed, and neither had the false man made doctrine of "Individual Interpretation" of Holy Scripture.
1521, Thomas Munzer started Anabaptists by breaking from Lutheranism in the same year.
1534, King Henry VIII started the Church of England. (Anglican)
1536, John Calvin, teaching predestination, formed the Calvinists.
1560, John Knox, who studied under Luther, started Presbyterians.
1582, Congregationalists started by Rob Brown, as a branch from Puritanism.
1609, John Smyth formed the Baptists. They have severely splintered since then.
1739, John Wesley started the Methodists, in a split from Anglicanism.
1774, Theophilus Lindley started Unitarians.
1789, Samuel Seabury started Episcopalians.
1793-1809, Churches of Christ had four separate founders.
1830, Joseph Smith founded the Mormons in Palmyra New York.
1860, William Miller, a farmer, started the Adventists.
1863, Ellen Gould White started the Seventh-Day Adventists.
1865, William Booth started the Salvation Army.
1875, New Age was started by Helena Blavatsky. *COL 2:8
1879, Mary Baker Eddy started Christian Scientists.
1879, Charles Russell started the Jehovah's Witnesses.
1895, French Abbe, Alfred Loisy and English Jesuit, George Tyrrell started Modernism.
1900-1920, conservative Episcopalians, Lutherans, Presbyterians, and Methodists,
formed a consortium, and started Fundamentalism.
1901, Pentecostalism was started in the United States. It has since split into many independents.
1914, Felix Manalo started Iglesia ni Cristo.
1930, Independent Churches of America (IFCA), was formed by a consortium of churches
1952, L. Ron Hubbard started the Church of Scientology.
1965, Chuck Smith began Calvary Chapel.
1968, Disciples of Christ, started as a splinter of Churches of Christ.
1974, Ken Gullickson started the Vineyard Christian Fellowship.
20th century. Assemblies of GOD, and other splinter Pentecostal groups, are some of hundreds of new sects founded by mere men.
The very founder of the "Reformation", Martin Luther, was the "regrettable" one, as he surveyed the damage that his rebellion against authority had caused. His writings show that he lamented his deed when he penned the following remarks...
"This one will not hear of Baptism, and that one denies the sacrament, another puts a world between this and the last day: some teach that Christ is not God, some say this, some say that: there are as many sects and creeds as there are heads. No yokel is so rude but when he has dreams and fancies, he thinks himself inspired by the Holy Ghost and must be a prophet."
De Wette III, 61. quoted in O'Hare, THE FACTS ABOUT LUTHER, 208.
"Noblemen, townsmen, peasants, all classes understand the Evangelium better than I or St. Paul; they are now wise and think themselves more learned than all the ministers."

I'm a Catholic, so I'm in the church that Jesus established.
The word "Catholic" means universal. Jesus created one universal church for all of mankind. The Catholic Church was established by Jesus with his words spoken in Matthew 16. Jesus asked his disciples "Who do people say that the Son of Man is?"
The disciples then offered various answers - "Some say John the Baptist, others Elijah, still others Jeremiah or one of the prophets." But the question that Jesus then asked was crucial: "But who do YOU say that I am?"
The answer provided by Simon Peter set in motion the formation of the Catholic Church by Jesus. "You are the Messiah, the Son of the living God." With this answer, Jesus established the Catholic Church with Simon Peter designated the first Pope.
"Blessed are you, Simon son of Jonah. For flesh and blood has not revealed this to you, but my heavenly Father. And so I say to you, you are Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church, and the gates of the netherworld shall not prevail against it. I will give you the keys to the kingdom of heaven. Whatever you bind on earth shall be bound in heaven; and whatever you loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven."

Jesus Christ, 33 CE
Christian in association with the Christian Congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses.
EDITED: No turb, Charles T. Russell Founded the Watchtower Bible and Tract Society, which is used by Jehovah's Witnesses in the preaching of the good news.
As Christians, we have been around since 33 CE, but due to the false Christians teaching lies and living in a manner that Christ would not approve, we adopted the name "Jehovah's Witnesses" based on Isaiah 43:10-12 to distinguish oursselves from those professed Christians who bring dishonor to our great God Jehovah and to his Son Jesus Christ.
Actually, Jehovah's Witnesses have been around almost as long as humanity. We began in the second generation of humans beginning with Abel. See Hebrews 11:4 - 12:1.

Depends on whether you are talking about "The Church" as a world wide union of Christians, or "the church" as a local congregation that meets in your town.
Jesus founded "The Church". But individuals use "start" (it is not called founding) local churches. That is a pattern you will find even in the Bible, where the apostles (especially Paul) started churches in many cities as they spread the gospel.
So "The Church" I belong to was founded by Jesus Christ, with a local branch of "the church" started by my pastor.

Through the power of the Holy Spirit at Pentacost, the Apostles became vested with the ability to deliver the Gospel to the world.

Although the mass of answers say Jesus Christ , what really is the truth. ?
Certainly if it was founded by Jesus the teachings of such a church would be in line with what he and the first century Christians believed and taught.
Thats logical.
So if someone says there Church is Christian and from Jesus and yet they follow blatant pagan teachings like the immortality of the soul , hell fire , the trinity doctrine and other similar things , then the facts speak for themselves.
These people are deceiving themselves in lies and are truly following Satan and his world of false religion.
These people are not pleasing God with their worship.
Only by following Bible truth accurately can we hope to do so , and find favor and protection from God.
