ETERNAL TORTURE FOR FINITE SINS MAKES NO SENSE WHATSOEVER!
The worst part is that according to christian belief, you get eternal torture for NON-BELIEF, it does not matter if you were a great person in life, you will still get tortured if you did not acknowledge Jesus as your savior. So Jews, Muslims, atheists, agnostics, Buddhist , Hindu all will be in hell suffering eternally because of NON BELIEF in Christianity.
It is all very stupid!!

There are four schools of thought about the destiny of the unsaved. There called Traditional, Metaphorical, Purgatorial, and Conditional. The Metaphorical and Purgatorial views are absolutely at odds with Scripture so I"ll exclude them with out comment. That leaves two.

The Traditional view is that the unsaved spend eternity separated from God in a place of torment. Until recently this was the only orthodox view. But now some teach a Conditional view. This view holds that God is too kind to make people suffer forever so at the Great White Throne judgment, He judges unbelievers according to the quality of their lives and levies punishment suitable to their works, less for those who did lots of good things, and more for those who did little or none. After they've served their time of punishment, they're destroyed and cease to exist in any form. So no one is immediately destroyed, but the time of torment for some is less than for others. It's conditional upon their behavior.

Conditionalists, as they're called, say that this view is in harmony with the nature of God. Each sinner gets exactly what he or she deserves and even the worst sinner is mercifully destroyed after a time. This view also parallels the price Jesus paid for believers' sins. Suffering and death, not eternal torment.

Yes, that WOULD be unfair. But the key phrase here is, "we are told." Told by WHO? Not God. In actuality, the Bible -- God's Word -- does NOT say anything of the sort. Rather, it says that those who will not change from a sinful life, will be DESTROYED, not punished.

From the words of Jesus himself:
"And do not fear those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul. But rather fear Him who is able to DESTROY both soul and body in hell" (Matthew 10:28).

God IS fair, and just. He will not punish forever. "The wages of sin is DEATH" (Romans 6:23) -- permanent, irrevocable death -- not an eternal life in torment.

Yes thank you for noticing. I am Christian. The very idea of eternal torment in hellfire makes NO sense to me. One thing I love about being one of Jehovah's Witnesses is the fact that this unBiblical belief is not upheld by us. Consider God is supposed to be loving, like a father. What father would put his kid's hand on a stove top. Now imagine doing it for years, over a 1 time mistake, or wrongdoing. It doesn't fit.

Yes, the death is the wage of sin according to Romans 6:23 that is why Jesus only had to die and didn´t have to stay in hell to pay for the sins of all mankind, he just died and was resurrrected it.

Good question... He created sin and sinners - only to punish them afterwards!

Who created sin is the one who should be punished... This is a much bigger sin!

It is not about sin. Jesus died for our sins. It is about you choice. You have your free will and you need to make a choice between hell and heaven. Why would anyone choose hell? God loves everyone. God is not sending you to hell if you end up in hell, you are there if you did not choose heaven. : )

Of course it is. And if a thousand years are but a day to day, then a human being's life is but an eyeblink.
And an eternal punishment for an eyeblink? Yeahright.

I don't think a loving God can be that unfair. But if it's true then my belief is really tested and I'm not sure I'll pass the test...^^))))
