All companies are trying their best to make profit and to make as much profit as possible through their products. Cutting cost would become an important way for them to achieve the goal. If they can find someone to do the same job for cheaper rate, they will hire them. This is the market for illegal immigrants. I don't think the cost of produce will go up if we stop illegal immigrants because there are other factors associated with the price of produce. If, we, as consumers don't buy their produce, they have to cut the price.

Last month 40,000 American jobs were lost, the first time this has happened in 4 years, is it a coincidence that last month the Bush pressure on employers were implemented and ICE raids were increased. Has the US employers decided it would be better to move their jobs out of the U.S. instead of increasing the minimum wage from $5.15 per hour. move to Mexico where the wages are $5.00 per day or Thailand Where wages are $3.80 per day ,or any other country in Asia or South America. You will be paying more for many more items than just produce.

I doubt it very much but if that were the case I would happily pay more for produce. To be rid of illegals I would gladly pay ALOT more for produce but I really don't think it would rise much. If it did rise it would be because real Americans would fill those harvest jobs and need to make more money than below minimum wage. That being the case the rise in wages would be covered by a rise in price and I for one would pay that gladly.

think about this if they stay it will still go up as they will be legal those companies will have to pay insurance ,give them better pay etc ,etc. and then those companies will be looking for the next fresh batch of illegals to come in and a way around the law . if they leave my guess is it will still go up . and those companies will claim because they lost their work force. but the truth is they don't want to pay what legitimate companies have to pay.

Doubtful-
The largest expense in farming is not harvesting labor but transporting the goods.

The one thing that will drive the cost of produce and everything else up in America is the cost of fuel.
