pen Notepad--select Start, Programs, Accessories, Notepad--and type the following:

[Shell]
Command=2
IconFile=explorer.exe,3
[Taskbar]
Command=ToggleDesktop

Select File, Save, navigate your way to the Windows\System folder, name the file

Show Desktop.scf

and click Save. Close Notepad.

Now just create a shortcut to this file in the Windows\Application Data\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Quick Launch folder, as described above, and a Show Desktop item will appear on your Quick Launch toolbar.

Normally there is a shortcut for this on the quick launch menu. To enable the quick launch right click on the taskbar and select Toolbars and then Quick Launch. Once the quick launch toolbar is displayed you can copy the Show Desktop shortcut to your desktop.
