I am from another religion.And i want to know how is god discribed in bible to compare it to the description in my own religion.

God is our creator, God is our Peace, God is our Shepherd, God is jealous, God is love, God is light, God is our refuge and strength, God is the Word, God is my Savior...the descriptions are endless.

Exodus 20:5 Thou shalt not bow down thyself unto them, nor serve them: for I the LORD thy God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children, upon the third and upon the fourth generation of them that hate me;
Psalm 23:1 The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want.
Psalm 46:1 God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.
1st John 4:7-8 My dear friends, we must love each other. Love comes from God, and when we love each other, it shows that we have been given new life. We are now God's children, and we know him.
God is love, and anyone who doesn't love others has never known him.
John 1:1-5 In the beginning was the one who is called the Word. The Word was with God and was truly God.
From the very beginning the Word was with God.
And with this Word, God created all things. Nothing was made without the Word. Everything that was created received its life from him, and his life gave light to everyone.
The light keeps shining in the dark, and darkness has never put it out.
Ephesians 5:23 A husband is the head of his wife, as Christ is the head and the Savior of the church, which is his own body.

The account(s) in Genesis make it clear that God is omnipotent (all-powerful), that is, He doesn't need ANY help [He did ALL the creating}), that he is infinite (everywhere at once), that He is eternal (He has always existed and will always exist), that He is omniscient (all-knowing), that He is omnibenevolent, ie, all-loving (You don't go around creating and pronouncing the creation "good" if'n you don't love what you're doing and the results [us] of what you're doing).
The Gospels in the New Testament make this even clearer. In the Gospel of John, chapter 3, verse 16, John says, "For God so loved the world that He gave His only-begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him shall not perish but have life everlasting." That's a pretty flat-footed statement of love, doncha think?
Jesus Himself spoke time and again of God's creative love and of His own salvific love for ALL mankind.
The bottom line of Christianity is LOVE! Total, complete, perfect in every way! God's love for us. God's love for ALL His creation. And the love we should be returning to Him via our lives and behavior.

Where do i start...He is a loving, caring, trusting, saving, jealous, kind, a Father, a friend, Savior, Lord, The way , the truth and the life, humble, there are so many that i dont think that i can get them all on here...Please accept Jesus into ur heart today before it is to late...He is the way, the truth and the life and no man can come into the Father but by Him...

Hebrews 10:31 It is a terrifying thing to fall into the hands of the living God.
"The fear of God is the beginning of wisdom."
John 3:36 "He who believes in the Son has eternal life; but he who does not obey the Son will not see life, but the wrath of God abides on him."
2 Thess 1:8 dealing out retribution to those who do not know God and to those who do not obey the gospel of our Lord Jesus.

the best thing to do is to read the bible and see for your self!
Some of the things is that most of all God is Love!
You will see that God can be whatever he wants to acomplish his words!
He can be a healer he can be a father he can be anything to protect his faithfull servants!
Read the bible!

the God of the Bible is the one true God who revealed Himself to people such as Abraham. Read the Bible from Genesis.

He is the great I AM. He is loving, good, kind, merciful, etc., but he is also a God of wrath! :o)
